What are you talking about? The movie was a financial success, it is going to get at least 3 more releases before the new one comes out. Hell, maybe more given that is four years from now.

I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the year we start to hear about an Extended Edition coming out.

Is this something that's noticeable on all 3D displays or are some displays more prone to this issue (active 3D displays?).

It was a similar experience for Iron Man 3 3D and Man of Steel 3D, which is why 2D was the way to go for me on those two films. For me, it seems like 2D is the way to go for Godzilla

It also doesn't help a lot of the film is shot in very dark, low light settings, unlike Pacific Rim, which was I thought had superb 3D and a clean picture for me.
It sounds liek what your getting is ghosting which is also called crosstalk, which is when you start seeing part of the right image in you left eye as well as your right and vice versa. This is a display related issues and not content related. For example a dlp projector will have no crosstalk, a plasma will typically have some crosstalk and an lcd usually has the most.

The closer your are to black and white against one another, the more likely you are to see crosstalk, but it is your display device that is 'failing', not the content.

I am sure I will enjoy this better than in the movie theater because I can rewind all Godzilla's scenes haha.

Thanks for the info -- I'm going to look into my display settings to see if I can improve on the image I'm seeing.

The only way you can do that is to reduce the actual contrast of the image (increase your brightness) which largely defeats the purpose. It is an inherent issue with your display, crosstalk is something one really needs to pay attention to when considering a new tv if they care at all about 3d as most displays are sub par in this area.

But do try out pushing the brightness up (and contrast down) as it may work for you. It will not remove the crosstalk but may make it less noticeable.

This reminds me of the Minority Report website. You could input a name, and the Flash animation created a newspaper headline about Precrime arresting that person.

The 3D version has a very nice Lenticular Slipcase.

Be aware, it has that awful 'Stacked Disc' rubbish again.

How was the 3D presentation of this film? Would you guys recommend going 2D or 3D on this release?

From what little I've seen, I found the 3D Presentation to be Decidedly Average.

The DP hates 3D and shot it as a 2D movie.

Saw this in IMAX and the 3D was almost non-existent, I thought. But oddly enough I never found the image to be dark, even with the glasses.

It appears the standard edition and 3D edition have the same cover art, but is it safe to assume that the lenticular slipcover is only for the 3D edition?

So, there is no director's cut coming for this? I thought there was some talk shortly after the film was released.

I love the film anyways, but I was hoping for another cut.

I'm sure the "Ultimate Edition" will hit shelves in 2-3 years.
Remember the studio axiom: Always keep them coming back for more!

I saw it twice in 3D (non-IMAX) and honestly the only 3D moment I can remember that stood out was
[Show spoiler]the raindrops on the window as the bus driver looked out across the bridge
. I loved the movie though and look forward to seeing it in 2D on BD. My eyes got pretty fatigued by the time of the climax in theaters.
