Personally, I don't even want to think about Paramount until they start releasing titles on blu-ray again.

Isn't Ronin supposed to be released sometime around father's day? I thought I read that the last time it was supposed to be released.

I'm interested in quite a few of these, actually. Da Vinci definitely doesn't compare to the book, but I'll probably still buy it.

Shooting is scheduled to start June 5th according to IMDb. Still can't see Naomi Watts as Vittoria Vetra.

I rented it on DVD and thought it was good but strange and the same time. It's definitely out there if you know what I mean. I would certainly check it out again on Blu-ray though.

PQ and SQ are amazing on my PS3.

The IMAXes might be interesting, too.
I've already seen "Serengeti", "Alaska" and "Australia".
Picture was nice, but not as "blu-ish" as one might hope...
What the heck? The UK is region A?

No, it's region B. But, Starship Troopers is not region locked thus the reason for it playing on US players. I should be getting my copy of Starship tomorrow. Can't wait to check it out on Blu.

Fox is the main studio behind region coding. Disney has been very lax about doing it, which is definitely a good thing.

Bug and Starship Troopers are region free imports. I picked up Bug a while back as well as Starship Troopers. Starship Troopers will be released in the US soon though so I'd just wait for that even though the import is really good.

To be honest with you, I thought the book was okay. I certainly don't think it was worth all of the hype it got. Now, I read about 30-40 novels per year, so I have a much more definitive base of comparison... I just found it too formulaic and simple.

As for the film... just bad, in my opinion.

Actually, Da Vinci occurs after Angels & Demons, so it's really the prequel which starts shooting soon. I am in complete agreement as Naomi Watts, while a decent actress, doesn't really fit the Italian mold for me.

And personally, I thought Angels & Demons was a much better book than The DaVinci Code.
