Normally this is due to the PS3 and the router getting confused by one another if you have it set so the PSP can turn on your system.

Well, I sold my PSP about a month ago so that can't be it, but you might be right about the router, I guess it kind of makes sense.

I doesn't matter weather you have the PSP or not.

The question is when you turn of the PS3 is the green wireless internet light on, on the front of the PS3

I just got a PSP and read about certain routers turning it on when using that remote power on setting. It has never happened to me (yet) and I'm using a Linksys. What brand you guys using?

all I know is if you even breathe to hard on the PS3 blu ray remote, it'll turn
on.....Every time my wife cleans the coffee table my ps3 is usually on...

This amuses me cuz it's true. My grandma dusts and it powers the system on. I had to train her to power it down afterwards, since she wouldn't just...not dust it.

Its true, cuz I was vacuuming the other day and I heard beeps turns on. I checked there and wow, WTH is that? So I shut them off completely. There's another one here, has the same incident and that was hardcore canadian, posted about the PS3 being turn on by itself. What a mystery.

Mine Used to turn itself on whenever I Vacuumed, it looks like it was static, because if you have enough static electricity, you can turn on the ps3 without ever actually touching the button

it happens to me all the time as my dog likes to seek out my blu ray remote and use it as a head rest and im constantly waking up to a switched on ps3.

think she is mabey a gta4 fan

Maybe some other Blue Tooth signal is confusing it? Do any of these people have other Blue Tooth devices in the home? I don't and I've never had mine freak me out like that... yet.

Well the DoD DID recently acquire a slew load of PS3s for research purchases. They put in order for hundreds of them. For real. They said the PS3 was the only Cell machine they could cost-effectively purchase for their purpose.

If you are worried about other people accidentally turning your PS3 on use the manual switch. Turn it off.

You know... its possible that whoever bought your PSP is simply clicking "Remote Play" near any wi-fi point and turning on your PS3. It can do that.

Who knows, maybe you'll wake up tommorow to find your hard drive formatted.
