If you're speaking about run time then I agree. Sherlock was a TV show made for TV broadcast and the run time doesn't matter. Glad we agree.

Well, they do feel more like TV movies than a TV show. High-quality TV movies, of course.

I don't see them as any more high quality in the production value sense than any other cop show. The thing that makes Sherlock great is the writing.

If feels more cinematic than any other cop show on tv. It's nothing like the normal procedurals. Top that off with fantastic performances and writing, as well as film length, it makes them much more than just another TV show. It feels like we get three movies a year from the series.
