Review scores for Destiny have been all over the place. I've seen a lot of 9/10's and I've seen several 5 and 6/10's. I've also noticed a LOT of *****ing and complaining about the game in here.
The thing about Destiny is, I don't feel it's a game that you can easily review right out of the gate. I think anybody who has been following the development of this game knows that this isn't going to be a self-contained, one and done release. Bungie has already stated that they project a 10 year commitment to this game. I look at it in much the same way as I do World of Warcraft. That game today is VERY different from the game that was released 10 years ago. I foresee Destiny being the same way. I fully expect to see additional planets, maps, story details, gameplay modes, etc added over time to futher expand and add depth to the game. As for what the game is right now, I am having a blast with it. Yes it can be repetitive but what you do in the game is so much fun and the mechanics are so tight I honestly don't mind. I find myself going back to missions I've already completed over and over just because I love being immersed in the environments and find decapitating enemies with my pulse rifle so satisfying LOL! I'm just going to continue to enjoy this game for what it is right now and look forward to what Bungie has in store to make Destiny all they envision it to be. The main thing I want Bungie to hurry up and implement are private PVP matches. The Crucible is fun but I want to set up matches just between me and my friends. I don't even care Bungie doesn't allow leveling up or weapons/armor upgrades. I just want to be able to do smaller matches with just my friends ala Halo. They are also breaking them up into pieces at least. So in one night you may unlock a particular door and then leave and come back to start the next night on the part after the door.

NARMAK, help me out here, but have you noticed that a lot of the mechanics that Destiny uses are very similar to DCUO? How the game really starts at "max" level is almost a complete riff of that game. Now DCUO is a 3rd person more "action-MMO" but past that there are a lot of similarities. The big difference was that when DCUO started it was 59.99 like Destiny plus a $10-15 monthly fee. Destiny has no monthly fee. I will say that comparing the two, DCUO had a lot more created content than destiny does now - particularly at the instance/strike level. Did it have so much more to justify paying $60+$15*6 ($150) for the first 6 months vs the supposed $60+$35 ($95) for destiny? I think in the end, to me, the answer is Destiny has enough content right now as a no monthly fee MMO compared to DCUO that I don't feel like I've been jiped. I've already spent similar time on the story and patrol with one character that I did on my main playthrough of Second Son. Is the content so far earthshattering? No, I don't think so. But on the other hand it also doesn't feel to me like we've been cheated or anything. |

I hope we get to explore more of the solar system and it adds more story each time, and more "parts" of planets. Like along with Old Russia, we get a map area called "Former America" or whatnot and its more levels and stuff.
Sidebar, what is the expansion pass, is it active yet? The two DLC bundles that come with it? Someone explain that one for me. |

Side note, has anyone got the Playstation exclusive armor or weapons yet? Did that Dust palace strike quite a few times and got nothing. Last edited by Jafo; 09-15-2014 at 07:36 PM. |

So I have 2 friends who are trying to join the clan and have done so succesfully, as in they are in the group and they are clanmates. The issue is that it still doesn't show in game that they are in the clan (in the banner doesn't have the clan name) If I check both their names in the companion app they both have "This player hasn't played destiny yet" which isn't true since they are level 18.
I'm assuming it's an issue with their account not being linked properly between bungie, companion app, destiny but I really have no idea. They've tried to leave the group and rejoin and still doesn't work. Anyone? |
