Firmware downgrade on Samsung BD-P1000 ?

Ditto - wish I read this first. Really sucks that my AVCHD camcorder won't play on this. Don't want to have to buy another blu-ray player.

Samsung REALLY needs to get their @#*! together...how long do we have to wait this time for ANOTHER firmware upgrade? I have a sony, and they have allready sent me like 6 upgrades...Seems like Samsung is having issues lately with their TV's screwing up, and 2 out of 3 of their blu players, are total pieces of dung!!

I just installed the latest firmware v.1.6 from the Samsung site. It fixed the image skipping issue I was having with several new releases like Jumper.

BUTT.......

Now I have a new issue. Blue ray 5.1 audio is messed up and almost reversed. For instance front speaker sound is sent to rear speakers. Standard dvds with 5.1 play perfectly in the correct speakers so this is not a reciever issue. Blue ray 5.1 audio is wrong.

I noticed it immediately when I played Jumper after the upgrade.
I am using the single digital coaxial output for sound.

Any ideas??

BD-P1000_firmware_Feb07

Sorry I don't know which version numbers they are just the ISO file names.

did u try calling samsung?

u might want to check the philips website also. the philips bdp9000 is the same as the sammy and some use the sammy firmware on the philips so it's possible the reverse will also work.

i had the same problem, front speakers playing what you should hear on the back ones and visceversa. I fixed that by switching the audio setup from PCM to Bitstream

Has anyone else tried this. To download the philips firmware and update their Samsung with it, is it more current.
