The only 3D version is [Show spoiler] . I think I need the real 3D movie presentation rather than the slipcover only!![]() Last edited by Deciazulado; 02-01-2023 at 03:06 PM. |

Had a feeling this was going to happen (Disney starting to region lock their discs.) Too early yet to confirm....we 'll have to see what happens after Big Hero 6 gets a home release. |

Someone high up in the organization of Disney must have a pet peeve against 3d thus setting the hostile tone toward 3d for the home release division. Most companies have this autocratic rule of one or a few individuals making the decision for what's "best" for the company instead of, God forbid, actually listening to their consumers. Disney could easily do a limited 3d run a.k.a. pre-orders only or some other promotion that would satisfy the 3d niche market and prevent excess unsold inventory. They are just being obstinate about this despite receiving negative feedback from a vocal minority. Eliminating 3d releases across the board here in the states is also irresponsible because it prevents the possibility of 3d becoming more mainstream as 3d technology becomes more advanced and affordable for home use. They should at least leave a crack in the door instead of shutting us out completely because that's eliminating a possible future expanding demographic that could prove to be profitable for Disney in the long term.

Thank God for Starz 3D On Demand where you can watch Disney 3D films free with a subscription to Starz.

Haven't had cable for decades- Starz intrudes on their movies with on-screen crap promoting upcoming shows, and they and most other movie channels crop scope movies to 16x9 (in the analog era they showed everything in 4x3 pan and scan.) Good to hear there's at least some 3D content left on cable though, as I heard ESPN 3D and 3Net shut down recently, both after not showing a lot of compelling material and repeating a lot of shows ad nauseum.

If that's the case with active, you lose more than half temporally by it shutting black in for every second frame and sometimes more.I will try and find some links which even though they are now old explain things for you..sorry It won't work because I'm using an ipad. The first is on the displaymate website and the other explanation is in I think Sven de Witt's blog... Sorry I couldn't link them. ![]() |
