Thank God for Starz 3D On Demand where you can watch Disney 3D films free with a subscription to Starz.

Haven't had cable for decades- Starz intrudes on their movies with on-screen crap promoting upcoming shows, and they and most other movie channels crop scope movies to 16x9 (in the analog era they showed everything in 4x3 pan and scan.) Good to hear there's at least some 3D content left on cable though, as I heard ESPN 3D and 3Net shut down recently, both after not showing a lot of compelling material and repeating a lot of shows ad nauseum.

Starz usually shows 3D movies in their intended AR. For this month:

1.78 Battle of the Year
2.35 Frozen
1.78 Monsters University
1.78 One Direction
2.35 Thor: Dark World

Unfortunately, 3D over cable is only 540i x 2 resulting in a terrible 3D presentation when compared to 3D bluray.

Its not terrible. Its the same 3D you get from a passive 3D TV set.

Are you kidding? Another person who peddles the myth of non hd for passive...

If that's the case with active, you lose more than half temporally by it shutting black in for every second frame and sometimes more.I will try and find some links which even though they are now old explain things for you..sorry It won't work because I'm using an ipad.

The first is on the displaymate website and the other explanation is in I think Sven de Witt's blog...
Sorry I couldn't link them.
