(I always liked BATMAN RETURNS the most, although I do agree with those that say that BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES is the best incarnation of Batman in any medium) or THE BEST COMIC BOOK MOVIE EVER!!! (I think X2 set the bar very high in the last ten years of the Comic Book Renaissance).
I don't believe that it's the BEST COMIC BOOK MOVIE EVER (I think superhero movies like "Spider-Man 2" and "Iron Man" were better, as were some other non-superhero comic based films), but I do feel it's the BEST BATMAN MOVIE EVER (I thought BR was the second worst of the quad).

I didn't have a problem with KH, I just didn't like the character. I found her pointless.

As for your other comments, Batman's origin has been told MANY times in the comic books... and I don't think many comic book readers have had problems with Batman losing his mystique.

You ask anybody on the street, they'd be able to tell you Batman's origins, since it's so engrained into the cultural psyche. Spending 2 1/2 hours retelling it, going into every minute detail of that story and repeating it three times just in case if you missed it just seemed to take away the grand, gothic mystique of the character.
Having his origins in this film did several things. One, it told you that this was a different Batman from the one years ago (though the lack of nipples might also have told you that as well). Two, it hadn't really been done in cinema. Three, it made the title make sense!

Seriously though, comic book writers have told Batman's origins over MANY times. Each giving their own stamp on his origin. I see no probelm with a Director wanting to do the same...

I would prefer to NOT compare "Batman Begins" with "Superman Returns"! As for Donnor, Reeves was perfect, Donner was good.

I cried too! Not at that part... just intermittently throughout the film when I realized I paid $25 for that HD DVD.

I think I'll like TDK more as well too though...

As for the comparisons above, everybody has their own opinions and tastes... and BB and SR aren't even in the same LEAGUE in my opinion... but to each their own...

Hell, I can't wait for it to come out in theatres so I can just see it.
Hate to be a pessimist, but I would say it's quite possible WB will f*ck up The Dark Knight BD (due December 9, 2008). Their track record ain't so good. So while the preview might look great in HD...just wait til the entire film goes through post (the imax preview may, or may not, have been finished). Then wait til they possibly DNR it, and then encode it (possibly with low bit rate and banding - see 10,000BC).

In short, what I am saying is that what you see in the preview on this Batman Begins disc may not be indicative of the quality of the eventual BD release. It's the old, "hey, how come this looks better in the trailer" scenario...

I'm hoping for the best, but Warner has me worried. Something ain't right over there...

Default Just received mine from WB today!

I've seen some post where others have been dissatisfied with the way WB handles their orders but I myself am very pleased. Ordered "Batman Begins Limited Edition Giftset" for $27.97 not counting tax and shipping, it was sent to me on 6/27 and it arrived today! Just finished watching it and I thought the picture and audio quality were so much better than my plain DVD version. Of course it helps owning nice equipment for a good home theater! And the IMAX Prologue for "The Dark Knight" (the first 6 minutes of the film) was awesome!

NO, they didn't and haven't ever sent me tracking numbers on any of my orders. However, I simply went to the "My Express Checkout" site and the status of my orders with them were listed as was the new UPS tracking number for this shipment. Hope this helps!!!

I don't think they will muck up their most anticipated Blu Ray ever. Why would they shoot themself in the foot

Also 10.000 BC is supposed to look amazing on Blu if you read all the reviews for that on. So i don't know what you are on about

The gift set is literally the regular BB Blu-ray shoved into the cardboard box. It's even individually plastic wrapped, so there's absolutely no difference in the content on the disc.

I used my movie cash today for my TDK midnight ticket. It didn't pay for all of it (obviously), but hey that's $7.50 I don't need to spend now.
