Who's getting what early? That guy got a review copy because he writes for SFX magazine.
If Warners are still giving out review content in the US then perhaps some lucky reviewer for BRDC has it in his sweaty hands right at this very moment. ![]() |

I really want to check out the extended cuts of the first 2 hobbit movies but I made a decision a while ago to wait for the inevitable box set. I'm one of the people that thought the extended cuts of the lord of the rings movies only added to the experience. I've loved the hobbit movies so far and only a couple more months untill part 3. I can't wait.

I seriously doubt the initial boxed set of the Hobbit EE series will include anything extra not already included with the individual releases. But I fully expect we'll see some additional material when they release the ultimate 6-movie Middle Earth Collection in 4K Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos and HFR for The Hobbit series. Can't wait to hand Peter Jackson more of my money when that happens! ![]() |

No reason in particular I imagine, sometimes UK releases are just cheaper than their US counterparts.

It's only $5 USD more if you buy it from Amazon US vs Amazon UK. That's not awful and you'll get a usable digital copy (if you're in the US).

Thanks for the feedback
![]() I'm not from the States and with the recent price drop from amazon UK I guess it amounts to a cheaper option. Thanks again. |

I've decided to sell my theatrical editions of Hobbit and LotR because once I have the extended editions, I doubt I will ever return to the theatrical. So they're just sitting there collecting dust. I'm looking forward to this release!

Someone on theonering.net messageboard got it a day early and says the flashback with Thrain giving Gandalf the key and map is in.

I always say I'm never going to get suckered in with these extended editions that PJ creates but he adds JUST enough to where you can NEVER go back to the theatrical editions. |
