No more off base than some.

And Emily can act. (Go back to her small stint on TV)

What TV would that be?

Wonder Woman Movie Set in the 1920s?

Quote:
Warner Bros. confirmed just two weeks ago that Gal Gadot will indeed fly solo as Princess Diana in a Wonder Woman movie, after she debuts as the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but rumors for the 2017 solo movie have already began to circulate. "I have been informed that the film will spend the first half on Paradise Island with warring Amazon factions vying for control," reports Bleeding Cool, who claims to have sources who have seen the greenlit script treatment for Wonder Woman. "An arrival of a man (who is NOT Steve Trevor) on the island changes that status quo, as he asks the Amazons for help." Apparently, Princess Diana will join the said man on his journey back to earth where a 1920s setting will be revealed. "And the film will then show Diana exploring that world...from her unique perspective." Furthermore, the site implies that Warner Bros. already has plans for a Wonder Woman sequel during World War II, and a threequel "would then take place in the modern day, with the Justice League Of America." These details seem a bit out of sync with what we know about the planned DC Cinematic Universe. However, if true, does this mean Wonder Woman will have been roaming earth since the 1920s when she is introduced in modern-day in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

Well, actually, since Themyscira is ON EARTH, it means that she would have been roaming the Earth since she born/created/whatever-they're-going-with.

But that idea makes no sense whatsoever. Now, if it were WWII, or even say the 60s/early 70s, I could understand. But what connection does Di have with the 20s at all? That's a head scratcher if true, that's for sure.

Did anyone else watch John Wick and think that Adrianne Palicki would not have been a good choice to play Wonder Woman? I loved her in the film and she was a total brutal beast but I thought that she would definitely fit playing some super villain instead. As Wonder Woman, she seemed like she would just be too hard and rough and not graceful enough - sort of in the same category as when fans wanted Chyna or Carano to play Wonder Woman. Some people think that Wonder Woman should be some pretty brutal beast. But the Wonder Woman I prefer is the more delicate graceful one - closer to the Lynda Carter version or Justice League cartoon series. Graceful yet still bad-ass.

Does it matter? The pilot wasn't even good enough to make it to air.

nothing matters, just thought about this when watching John Wick. Which is also why I still think Gadot was an excellent choice - those Israeli girls toughen up when they have to serve in the military.

The problem is that casting Wonder Woman is almost impossible. They just got extremely lucky in finding Lynda Carter. The character is supposed to be a beautiful, imposing woman that towers over most men. Preferably, she'd be around 6' tall.

Am I remembering a fan theory or what? I thought the Amazons were going to be a community of Kryptonian women (no idea why no men) who crash landed on Earth before Kal-El. That being a way for WW to have essentially the same powers as Superman.

That was an old rumor from months and months ago.

I remember people's rumors about that, but I can't believe they would go with that.

I have nothing against making changes when going from the comics to the films, as they are different mediums and require some different approaches. But having Diana born on Krypton would be along the level of having Superman born in Kansas, and bitten by a radioactive cow.

Lol err what? Well I was picturing her having been born on Earth, or on the way, for instance.

The rumor was that a Kryptonian had come to Earth many thousands of years ago, and had fathered a race of super women in the Amazon. We shall see if they eliminate myth entirely from the DC film universe. It's not looking good, honestly. Since the Shazam movie won't be connected to the other DC movies, I have a feeling they will strip magic completely out of the DC Universe.

Makes me wonder how they can do Captain Marvel in that case, since it's impossible to do him without magic.

I don't think you got the gist of my statement. Captain Marvel isn't in the DC filmverse with everyone else, allowing that movie's world to have magic. Warner Bros. made the decision to make it a movie walled off from the Justice League's continuity. I fully expect Captain Marvel/Shazam will be aimed at a much younger audience than the Justice League movies.

Shazam not connected?? Why not? That means no potential for Superman vs Shazam or Black Adam. Or Shazam in the Justice League

It's not 1000% confirmed yet, but it's possible because Shazam is at New Line, so it's possible that Warners won't mix it with the DC films from them proper.
