I think I read on the Destiny wiki that a guardian will only receive loot from a raid once a week per difficulty. But with Bungie changing things all the time it may be wrong.

I think the raid gets tweaked a little week by week. It was harder last night with the same fireteam and one noob who caught on quick and not make it an experience like JJ describes. Took about 2.5 hours instead of 1.5 hours. More dying than has become customary.

7 times through VOG. Still only 1 chestpiece from the first time. Last night, I only got a warlock armband. No armor. No weapons. It really grates on me that some guys never beat the whole VOG and have more pieces than I do.

I'll message you later on when I get home, I'm sure it's the usual 7:30/6:30 time we usually hookup anyway.

I only beat VOG once and that was last week with Casual's group and then half of a Raid this past Sunday with the other John and his group. No Raid gear, just the Corrective Measures, the VOC, and a bunch of shards and maybe a few Energies from playing the Raid 1.5 times.

Ric over here got gauntlets from Sunday's Raid when we got to the 2nd chest. He has yet to beat it!

Completed the weekly and Nightfall with both my characters last night. Wow, we ended up cheesing Phogoth but the wizard waves was a pain. Make sure 1 person has a powerful arc fusion or sniper, and the other 2 need Ice Breakers or other high solar damage for wizard shields.

For Phogoth, make sure all 3 players stay in the small room just before the room the shrieker spawns in. Someone has to go and shoot Phogoth until he breaks free, then return to the doorway. With ice breakers preferably, take 6 shots while crouched in the doorway of the shrieker room through a small gap between the rock wall on the left and the opening to Phogoth. Keep swapping players while the ice breakers recharge. It should take about 10 minutes. Every once in a while a knight or 2 will come in, take care of it. If you go too far into the shrieker room and a shrieker spawns, go back to the small room before it and chill out. Do not kill the shrieker until it disappears. Whatever happens, do not ever cross back into the room the 2 yellow knights stood at before you get to the boss. That will reset Phogoth and sometimes send you back to orbit.

Also note that any player under 28 will do no damage to shields if using the wrong element.

Has the patch gone live yet? I've got a save point on the Gatekeeper and where ypu get the shields, then you can try pushing Aetheon off.

I'll be honest, we had all level 29s n 30 and we didn't for the love of all manage to even finish it in over 3 hours on that single bit. The enemies just screw you over ERVY time with excessive damage

By the end of the run you don't ever want to play Destiny or with those people ever again. The main game prepares you very poorly for the raid.

Anyway, this is just an angry post. At least I got 6 shards and Found Verdict out of it.

I saw you on with a bunch of people I didn't know. Hit me up anytime you want to Raid. I would rather do a Raid with no rewards than anything else.

Haven't tried Nightfall yet. I got the weapons that are in the modifier too.

Nightfall this week is near impossible. We got to Phogoth and hung back in the entry door killing knights and wizards until someone went back too far, which seemed to trigger another death and sent us all back to orbit. I think we'll try again tonight, but damn, this one is crazy with all of the shielded specials.

You probably already know this, bu the Xyor strike is a special one that appears on the moon map once you are ready to tackle it. It should be fairly easy with a 3-man team, as it's only level 26 (my son beat it solo). We beat the weekly at 28 last night without too many problems.

There's only one raid out of the box. Each dlc pack comes with story missions, stikes, and a different raid. Pretty stupid, and i'm convinced Activision chopped this game up the way it is. There is no way they would make such a big deal about raids, and only have 1 to offer out the door.

Oh lord, we don't need a buzzed Ric playing the Nightfall. Need to replace you with your son.

7:00ish seems to be the time it works for us so I can play Crucible (hopefully) while I wait.

It's not my fault the Knights/Wizards are focusing on me and hunting me down.

Sidebar, I forgot to mention I got Patience & Time out of the Raid too.

So I've now gotten Plan C, Ice Breaker, and Patience & Time out of the Raid loot chests.

Just want that armor though.

Well shoot, you've done it a few times, you know what to expect. I really expected it to take only an hour. Since when I played it with Joe & Mega and 'em it took us that long. Everyone knew their jobs. The two L29s (me and a buddy) were vets, the other 4 were the newbs, three L28s and a L27.

I figured they'd at least give us a new raid every month for free. Wow. My interest in giving this company any more money dwindles by the day.The fact that the actual paid dlc (so far) seems so miniscule is frightening. They have a 10 year plan (and the non-drip of content shows they can milk it out) but will people stay for that long is the question.

This is what bugs me. They claimed the raid would be so hard and it'd be so worth it. People beat it pretty quickly. Now they have to make backend adjustments to make it harder. Then they added a cute bone pile to the loot cave. How about you spend time making free content? The game is not what was promised at e3 2013. Not even close.

That's true. But many of use are running three guardians. Some manage to delete a guardian and make a new one and run it even again. I don't have time for that.


Anyone know the significance of the Vex portal across the chasm just before you enter the Vault of Glass?

Unfortunately, I'm heading to Phoenix Sunday and won't be back until Thursday night. Not going to be much Destiny for me next week.

I've been spoiled playing with Joe/Eden and Mega/MegaJr on Raids. That's my conclusion.

I don't think I can even look at the game today.

I lied, because somehow yesterday I managed to find 4 Purple Engrams. So I gotta hope the luck streak continues.

Just read a post on Bunjie from someone yesterday on that. Evidently there is another platform jumping section before you open the VoG door where you can get another two chests (one only available on hard mode). Supposedly there are videos out there, but I've yet to look.
