I have almost everything I want, so why am I not happy?

I'm the complete opposite, I've got next to nothing I want, but I am still happy. I want a newer computer that runs fast, I want a less stressful job, I want a house to call my own.. etc etc. At the end of the day though, I always go to sleep with a smile on my face.

Material posessions and other people shouldn't make you happy, it's something inside of you that makes you happy not external influences. If you are in a race to get new things to make you happy, then you won't ever be happy, because there's always something bigger and better coming out you will want.

If you rely on somebody else to make you happy (everybody saying get a girlfriend), then what happens when you break up, you go back to being unhappy. It's better to be happy with yourself, and when you find somebody they can enhance that existing happiness.
