It is not the German release, because there is no German release at this time. It is the Dutch release (explains the Dutch subtitles, which has been commented at this section of Blu-ray.com.

The PQ is average. It suffers from dirt. The sound is only DTS en Dolby Digital.

I bought this movie from Xploited. When I scene there was a Blu-Ray version of my favorite 80's flick it was a must buy for me. I thought the picture quality was so so. It does look better then the DVD version of course. But there is some problems with the picture.Theres like a pulsing to the picture. The Actors skin seem to change collor. I thought it was my TV going bad. But I checked it on my small HDTV in my bedroom and the pulsing was showing on that TV as well.
Yeah I was dispointed to see there was only Dolby Digital and DTS track.But The Blu-Ray does sound better then the DVD wich only has a Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtrack. I watched the movie with DTS sounded great. The theme song sounds great in DTS.
Hopefully when ever this movie gets released in the US Warner will do a remastering job and include a Dolby True,PCM,or a DTS-HD on the disc.Untill then I can live with the import. I already have the urge to watch it again.Love this movie.

I got the German collectors edition. It's two discs with the 'normal' cut (probably for Germany?) and the original full US theatrical cut (directors cut?). To be honest, I never got around to watch the 'normal' edition, but it seems the US theatrical is the one to get. And I was too young to remember what I saw in the theater back then...

By the way .... "scene" = "seen" and "notise" = "notice".

I ordered it from XploitedCinema (with 2 other HK Movies), i saw screencap from a TV on AVS and seemed a nice upgrade over the 'Not so good' Warner release..

I loved this movie as a kid. Grew up with it. Do we have any idea when it may high the US? And will it be a different transfer than the import? We never got a "nice" Dvd release of it as far as supplemental materials go. Tough call.

Sure will be it's Warner here so the transfert will be 100% different

It's like the import of Total Recall witch look 10x better than the lionsgate version (studio canal).

But we never know, their DVD of that movie is mediocre at best... the import is 27,99$ at Xploitedcinema witch is very cheap for an import. The only is DTS 1.5mbit only but it's a very nice update form the 2ch DD that's on the Warner DVD...(Voice are way better)

It is the Dutch release (explains the Dutch subtitles, which has been commented at this section of Blu-ray.com. The PQ is average. It suffers from dirt. The sound is only DTS en Dolby Digital.
