I've always had a lot of respect how fit he is at his age, and his genius just as strong. Same can be said to another Spielberg regular Michael Kahn.

Williams can score from home and someone else can do the actual sessions in London.

And Williams always adds tons of new music to his Star Wars scores, so yes, many people would notice if he didn't score.

Speaking of John Williams, it would be nice if someday we could get the previous scores remastered and re-released. The mixes on the OT releases done for the special edition CDs back in 1997 is awful, and the prequel scores are lacking additional music.

The Star Wars Soundtrack Anthology release is good enough, in my opinion. Aren't some of the master tapes severely damaged, anyway?

probably. You know, considering how big Star Wars was when it came out, they sure didn't treat the film and such very well. So much of it was damaged I am surprised it actually even exists.

Is that the box set from 1994? Yeah the mixes were better on that one, but I didn't like how they seperated everything out, plus still a lot of stuff was missing from that release (Mynock cue from Empire being the most notable since it was on the 1980 soundtrack record).

I haven't heard anything about the master tapes being damaged. I don't really buy that since Lucasfilm seems to be preaty stringent about their archiving, plus I remember at one point we were all told that Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom could never get an extended release due to missing master tapes or damaged ones, and that eventually happened even if it took almost 24 years after the film's release. My understanding is that the big roadblock is Sony records still having the license to release the Star Wars soundtracks for the original and prequel trilogy films. Maybe whenever that license expires, we'll finally get new releases.

I would love a 96khz/24 bit lossless multichannel release of all the Star Wars scores. That'd be amazing!

Will all the movie news hitting lately, the pressure for Disney to release something Episode IIV related is huge. We have a full shot of Black Panther, and that movie doesn't come out until 2017.

The *demand* for LucasFilm to release more Epiosode VII material is huge. They aren't feeling pressured. All in good time.

I commented on this a few days ago, when it popped up on my Facebook page. I will not be discussing it here after this post, so please PM me if you wish to do so. Thanks.

[Show spoiler]Years ago, George Lucas recalled having asked his mother as a child this question: "If there's only one God, why are there so many religions?" He also said he later came to the conclusion that "all religions are equally true". Well, Mr. Lucas...you're wrong. Sure, many faiths have a shared foundation of "love your family" and such, but they all diverge drastically after that.

I doubt he even believes in pantheism himself, because if he tried telling his buddy Spielberg that Judaism and Islam were equally true, Steven would balk like crazy.

Lucas will change is him mind next week. He will release a statement saying what he said wasn't what he meant at the time.

Plus there are more versions of The Original Trilogy than there are religions now.

Spielberg produced and directed Munich, which is a prayer for peace and dialog. Spielberg's career is marked by humanizing his antagonists and presenting more than one point of view...it goes all the way back to Sugarland Express. Steven Spielberg does not strike me as the sort of man who would be outraged if a good friend had different spiritual beliefs. Spielberg is a humanist, not an ideologue.

I don't see how that makes a difference. There are only three big record companies left: Sony, WB and Universal.

Even though the originals are not 96kHz/24? (They might be 48/24). You'll get no improvement in sound from a source that's lesser than the release format.
