It is definitely a commendable effort from Paramount and is a great release.

Watched it this weekend on Blu. Compared to the upscaled DVD, the Blu has alot of grain that the viewer has to contend with and 1-2 scenes briefly seem almost like static (not artistic), but in this one instance I am happy that there is a fair amount of grain becuase it really enhances the camcorder feel. Audio is really superior to the DVD.

I skimmed through the new special feature, (special investigation mode) and I will def be going back and watching the whole movie in this mode. It brings up a nice computer screen with tracking map, and a box for pop up text which adds infomration to the plot and about the characters.

You know? I am never a fan of the monster genre, but after reading some of the reviews here, I decided to buy the BD. Man, am I impressed? Let's just say it is as good as most of the reviews claim it to be and more.

Default Cloverfield copy frozen after intoductory screen

I have not been able to see the movie as on my Pioneer BDP-LX70 it freezes with a blank screen right after I push "play". I have not experienced this on any other movie in my collection of 139. Anybody have the same problem?(purchased from Amazon).

Great HD release, some scenes really benefit from the HD upgrade. The audio is amazing as well.

Should have had
Dramamine in one hand,
Beer in another.

I watched the DVD on my 46" and had to stop it half way through,
luckily I finished it within the hour.

I'll be sure to act accordingly next time!

Watched this one last weekend and I can say I thoroughly enjoyed!! Much more than I expected and lots more than the atypical Monster Movie!

Though some may not like the video, I loved it and thought it fabulous! As for the audio, it really sets a new standard!! Not only were the explosions, roars, gunfire and collapsing buildings aurally exciting but the articulation throughout the soundtrack is just outstanding!! If not the best lossless track out there then certainly among the best!

Default Copyright violation on Cloverfield Blu?

Ok so my parents and I were watching Cloverfield tonight on there BDP 1400 blu ray player. Got all the way to the last 5 minutes and then it froze on one frame. Was not able to fast forward, or skip a chapter. I could pause it or hit play, but it did nothing because it was froze on that frame. But I could rewind or go back a chapter. But thats it.

So frustrated, I take it into my room to my trust DMPBD30, and throw it in. Stupid thing wont even play at all on it. Just get a error on screen sayin "Copyright Violation".

First off, I paid cash money for it, so there is no way its a copyright issue. Plus I have watched it about 4 other times on my player with no issue. So what gives? Any one got any insight? Appologies if this is in the wrong section.

Return for exchange, if possible. If not, try calling the company who distributes it for a possible exchange through them. Some companies may be more willing than others to replace the disc.

But seriously, do you like that movie? Not trying to be a jerk, but I found that movie awful and everyone I've talked to had the same opinion. I know opinion's are like butt holes and everyone's got one, just curious.
C'mon. Cloverfield is fine, genre-busting entertainment. Everyone I've talked to had the same opinion. heh Sorry to hear you may have a bad disc, alomar. Hope you can enjoy clover again soon.
