Whatever! See it for yourself in the theaters, rather than judge it off of its commercials! Sounds like a classic "I have made up my mind about this movie without seeing it!"

Before you make that assumption, you need to see the movie and watch the Neytyri character. Her facial expressions are so realistic it is uncanny.

This movie is pretty incredible.

VERY few I think.

But you know, Cameron has taken CGI to such a level, that it truly looks real. My sister REALLY thought they had actors dressed up in costumes and makeup...

Yup, that is the magic of it. I am glad it is being used and now they can use it to make the majority of scenes look real.

That IMO is what a movie is about. I love to go to a movie that takes you to another world or to another place that is impossible to do or go to and make it feel like it is real. I love it. Imagination! Some I believe lack that one word.

Think at least for a second before spouting ignorance.

Avatar is fully acted and directed live action. The CG is a replacement for prosthetics and makeup

Every character you see on the screen is the result of an actors performance.

Your post is nothing but pure ignorance.

I really want the Avatar Blu-ray release to have a 1.78:1 Widescreen aspect ratio fro better visuals, just like the Dark Knight aspect-ratio shifting. But then again, the movie wasn't filmed in IMAX.

Cameron has not taking CGI to new levels as he has not developed them or even actually done the CGI work - people who actually create the programs are the ones who are responsible for the advances, any yutz can sit there armed with 300 million plus and say, make it do this or that

yes all movies use computers, but a real movie is one that is 95% on screen not enhanced by computers, like where you watching a movie and there are actual people and scenery, not 95% computer crap

any dolt can stand against a green screen and anyone can film that - that takes no talent at all

all the hype created to say it takes talent is done for people like you to throw their money away on garbage like this and real movies then will not get made

If it was 95% CGI then 162 minutes of the movie (180 minutes total) was CGI, I dont think that is right. Sources say it is between 70% and 85%, either way, it is amazing he was able to do it and to make it look real. To forget during a movie that it is CGI is an accomplishment!

I imagine James Cameron has a lot to do with it. He created the whole dang thing. He made the world, the fauna, the biota, etc. how did he not have a hand in it.

I enjoyed this movie. The creativity was great (I'm a "creative" BTW). Nice to see a diversion from the norm.

As for who did this or that, it doesn't matter.

I saw this film in IMAX and honestly, I think it will take a step back on BLU. I'll still pick it up, but IMAX added another level to it.
