The Daewoo DBP-1000 BLU-RAY player is the 14th BLU-RAY model to be added to the 1080P/24 list. The player should arrive in late 2007 or early 2008.
Quote
The player supports the full BD specification, including the ability to access BD Live online content, to present picture-in-picture material and deliver BD's interactivity features - missing on many early BD players because the specification had yet to be completed.”

The estimated time of arrival on the Samsung BD-P2400 and BD-UP5000 is November. The BD-UP5000 has the exact same features of the BD-P2400 with the added bonus of playing HD-DVD discs at 1080P/24.

Here are some Samsung spec sheets that have just been released

The list I created is for US model numbers in general. I am not familiar with international models and have not included them on the list. Now anyone that is interested is welcome to make a separate sticky link with 1080P/24 models that contains all worldwide 1080P/24 products.
I did a search for the Cineversum Blackwing II and could not find any websites that listed the specs in English. As far as I am aware this product is not sold in the United States.
I've see with my eyes today the JVC HD1 model for Europe and JVC HD1 DLA-RS1 model US with 1080P/24 signals and refresh at 48HZ like its clones Cineversum BlackWing Two and Dreamvision Dreambee, it could not be otherwise

The JVC DLA-HD1 according to several different sources refreshes 1080P/24 material at 96fps (96HZ). The JVC also refreshes 60fps (60HZ) material at 120fps (120HZ).

QUOTE
“According to JVC, it quadruples the frame rate to 96fps. The HD1's Gennum GF9351 scaling/deinterlacing chip doubles the 24fps input to 48fps, the 48fps to 96fps step is added elsewhere in the projector's video processing, downstream of the Gennum. This eliminates the need for 3/2 pulldown with 1080p/24 sources.”

http://ultimateavmag.com/videoprojectors/207jvchd1/index1.html

Check out the June 2007 issue of Home Theater magazine for a review on the JVC DLA-HD1. Geoffrey Morrison from Home Theater magazine is also reporting that according to JVC the DLA-HD1 refreshes 60HZ material at 120HZ.

Finally LG is discontinuing their first generation dual format player that did not support interactive menus for HD-DVD discs. The first generation LG also only supported 1080P/24 and 1080I.1080P/60 was not supported. The LG BH100 will remain on the list until inventories are gone from retail stores and Internet mail order companies.
The new LG BH200 supports both 1080P/24 and 1080P/60 with a list price of $999. It also is a true combo player that supports full specs of both BLU-RAY and HD-DVD discs.

Here are more details on the LG BH200 dual format player. According to Twice which is a reliable source the new LG BH200 will play audio CD’s that the original LG BH100 lacked. Also the LG BH200 dual format player hardware is fully PIP (profile 1.1) and BD-LIVE (profile 2.0) compatible. In order to use BD-LIVE a future firmware update is required next year when BD-LIVE discs should start to appear on the market during the first or second quarter. The LG will play PIP BLU-RAY discs this fall at the time of launch. Also the player has deep color support with HDMI 1.3.

Quote
However, the player will access rich menus and extra features available from many Blu-ray discs and HD DVDs through the supported BD-Java / Final Standard Profile (“Picture in Picture”), and HDi interactivity/network connection.”

Quote
“Similar capability for Blu-ray Disc, called BD Live, is not yet supported.”

Looks like the Pioneer Elite player might need to take a second place to the new Sony BDP-S2000ES BLU-RAY player which will be selling for $1300. The BDP-S2000ES will be arriving this fall and will include all the features of the $700 BDP-S500 with the added bonus of higher quality shielding, higher quality drive construction and a much better quality chassis. This high quality construction should improve signal to noise ratios which should result in a better picture and sound quality. I can not wait to see a professional review of this high end player. Perhaps the $2,000 Denon BLU-RAY player will be better quality but the Sony is $700 cheaper in price.
It is nice to have a selection of highend BLU-RAY players to choose from. The Pioneer Elite, Sony Flagship, and the Denon are all excellnet quality players.

When this Sony 35,000:1 1080P/24 Front Projector is announced for the US market it will be added to the list.

This new Sony VPL-VW60 1080P Front Projector has an amazing contrast ratio of 35,000:1. I hope this product come to the US soon. It is coming to Japan first. The average CRT has 50,000:1 contrast ratio. Within a year or two some display technologies will match or beat the contrast ratio of CRT’s.

Another high-end HDTV player has been added to the list. The Integra DHS-8.8 HD-DVD player will support 1080P/24 and is scheduled to arrive in the 4th quarter of 2007 with a list price of $1099. This will be the most expensive HD-DVD player to date and has unique features like bi-directional RS-232 for home automation connection to high-end front projector's with fancy remotes. The player will also feature high-end DAC’s. Integra is the high end line of Onkyo. The player appears to be very similar to the lower priced Onkyo DV-HD805 HD-DVD player

The Pioneer BDP-94HD has been discontinued but will remain on the list for a while since it can still be purchased brand new from several different companies. Pioneer in October (fall 2007) is releasing the Elite BDP-95FD BLU-RAY player for a suggested retail price of $1,000. This player has been added to the list. It will feature 1080P/24 support and will do internal decoding for DTS-HD Master, DTS-HD, Dolby Digtal Plus and Dolby TrueHD. 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio can be transmitted over the players HDMI v1.3 output.

Default The Bda Has Created A Loophole In The October 31st Mandate For Existing Bd Players

Over the years consumer electronic products have improved with advances in technology. In the United States one of the things that has helped the growth and wide spread adoption of new technology is government mandates and standards. For example if my memory is correct back on July 1st 1993 I think was the date that all TV’s manufactured after July 1st 1993 that were 13 inches and over were required to have a close caption decoder. There are several mandates and standards the US government has set over the years including AM, FM radio, NTSC broadcasting, etc. The most current mandate was March 1st 2007 in which all consumer electronics products that contain a NTSC tuner must also include an ATSC tuner before entering the US. So by law no company since March 1st 2007 is allowed to make a consumer device with only a NTSC tuner for the US consumer market, they must also include an ATSC tuner also in the product when a NTSC tuner is present. Such a mandate was needed in order to have the US move away from the NTSC broadcasting system alone with freeing up much needed spectrum for other types of communication. Thanks to the mandate low cost ATSC 480I TV’s can be purchased from places like Walmart for under $100. The ATSC tuner mandated added only about a $30 increase in price to most products. That $30 increase is falling every month.
I thought it was awesome news when I first heard that the BLU-RAY disc association has mandated that all BLU-RAY players streeting after October 31st must include a minimum of 256MB of RAM and other hardware requirements so that the player plays future BLU-RAY discs with the PIP feature. Also part of the mandate required that all BLU-RAY players streeting after OCT 31st that decided to include the optional Internet connection must include a minimum of 1GB of memory for BD-LIVE. More details about the original news article on March 23rd 2007 about the October 31st mandate can be read at the following link
http://www.videobusiness.com/article/CA6427147.html?nid=2840

Ok that sounds great and some people interpreted the news story to mean all existing BLU-RAY players in production that do not meet the minimum hardware requirements are required to go out of production by October 31st in order to meet the mandate. I know that was my interpretation from the original article. I guess I was use to several government mandates over the years for consumer electronic products that had strict cut off dates. According to Wikipedia the mandate does not apply to existing players introduced on or before October 31st. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray
So the BLU-RAY disc association appears to have created a loop hole for manufactories. Basically it appears that any company that wants to make a profile 1.0 BLU-RAY player that supports only profile 1.0 can release a new player as late as October 31st and then continue to manufacture that profile 1.0 player for as many months or years that they want. So we could see several manufactories introduce several new BLU-RAY players on October 31st or before and continue to produce that player for as many years as they want. Now I understand why many BLU-RAY players coming in September and October have not announced profile 1.1 (PIP support).
The BLU-RAY disc association should have made a strict cut off date for the October 31st mandate. All BLU-RAY players that did not meet the required hardware requirements should have went out of production. This loophole in the October 31st mandate is going to hurt the BLU-RAY camp in 2008 since there will be some existing players being made in 2008 that do not support PIP and BD-LIVE. There is a format war going on and making loopholes in the October 31st mandate does not help win the format war.
Yes high quality Picture and Sound with a wider selection of movies is more important then PIP and BD-LIVE. At the same time I like watching extra features and would like to experience a few movies with PIP and BD-LIVE.

The list has been updated with accurate information regarding which BLU-RAY players meet the minimum hardware requirements for PIP and BD-LIVE.

Due to my recent understanding of the loophole in the October 31st mandate I have updated the BLU-RAY list with accurate information on which players have the minimum hardware requirements for PIP and BD-LIVE. Only companies that have announced their model supports PIP and BD-LIVE capability are now on the list.

Update

The Sharp BD-HP20U has been added to the list. The BD-HP205 has been removed from the list since it is not a US product and was made for Japan market only. The Sharp 1080P/24 BLU-RAY player is scheduled to ship this month for $549. It has HDMI 1.3 with a very fast load time of less then ten seconds for BLU-RAY discs.

The list has been updated to include the Daewoo DBP-2000 BLU-RAY Player. The only difference between the DBP-1000 and DBP-2000 is the color of the case. The DBP-1000 has a blue-hued front and the DBP-2000 comes in black. Both players are the only BLU-RAY players so far that that officially support BD-LIVE. These players should arrive sometime in 2007-2008.

Two new awesome Sony Front Projectors added to the list

The VPL-VW50 has been discontinued from production but will remain on the list until inventory is drained. Instead of cutting cost on the Front Projector’s Sony took the smarter direction and left the retail price at $5,000 for the new VPL-VW60 and focused on increasing the quality of the product. Sony is releasing two new high-end Front projectors. The VPL-VW200 and the VPL-VW60. Both of these front projectors have an amazing 35,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Last years model was only 15,000:1. Both projectors can display a native aspect ratio of 2.35:1 with the purchase of an external anamorphic lens. This optional lens will allow watching widescreen movies with no black bars while maintaining the original ratio of the film. This is the cheapest Front projectors that feature this. Anamorphic lens attachments are usually only found on super highend expensive Runco products.
The VPL-VW50 will cost $5,000 and will refresh 1080P/24 material at 96HZ. The VPL-VW200 will sale for $15,000 and will refresh 1080P/24 material at 120HZ (120fps) with 3 separate motion compensation modes based on source material. The VPL-200 also has some highend features like X.V Color support and Xenon lamp for pure color accuracy of red, green, and blue. The VPL-200 features an Ethernet connection for possible firmware updates or remote calibration over the Internet.

http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=104&STORY=/www/story/09-05-2007/0004657351&EDATE=

The VPL-VW60 is shipping this month for $5,000 list price. The VPL-VW200 is scheduled to ship in October 2007 for a list price of $15,000. **Specs are subject to change** I will update the list if anything major regarding refresh rates changes on this product.

The Marantz BD8002 Blu-ray player has been added to the list. This player perhaps will be the best quality BLU-RAY player every released. We will need to wait for a professional review to verify that but according to the specs it looks very nice and even supports profile 1.1. This high-end Marantz player is suppose to arrive in the 1st quarter of 2008 and will be the most expensive BLU-RAY player every released so far. It will be priced at $2099.99 as a suggested list price.

According to the following information from a Samsung representative the BD-UP5000 is PIP fully compatible. (Might also be BD-live upgradable with firmware upgrade, waiting on further info to be released)

Quote
We spent some time talking to a Samsung representative and were able to confirm that the BD-UP5000 will support Profile 1.1 (picture-in-picture functionality), but unfortunately we weren't able to get a definitive answer about the other players. The BD-UP5000 Duo HD Player will be released in Q4 2007 and will retail for $999.”

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=491

What is interesting is that it appears that the first HDTV players that support PIP and BD-LIVE might be combo dual format players from LG and Samsung and not dedicated BLU-RAY players. If the first PIP and BD-LIVE players coming to market are going to be combo players then that is another advantage the combo players have over BLU-RAY only players. Also if the LG fully functional combo player comes to market before the Samsung then Samsung will need to change its brochure that claims that it is the worlds first true dual format player. There is a possibility that the LG BH200 could become the worlds first true working dual format player.

Optima HD 80 removed from list since it refreshes at 60HZ for 1080P/24 material

The Optima HD80 has been removed from the list. Below are quotes from two separate sources that have verified the Optima HD 80 only refreshes 1080P/24 material at 60HZ. The original reason why this projector was added to the list can be found at the following link. Either Projector Center website received a preproduction sample of the projector that had specs different from the official consumer release or they made a mistake when reviewing this projector.

Original link why this projector was added to the list

Back in August the Samsung you were asking about was reviewed and it is only a 60HZ display.

Quote
“The Samsung will accept a 1080p/24fps input, but it converts it internally to 1080p/60fps prior to display. Whether you will be better off simply changing the output resolution on your high-definition player to 1080p/60 to begin with will depend on which device—the player or the set—does a better job in converting 1080p/24 to 1080p/60. It's likely you won't see any difference, but do experiment.
Oddly, it turns out that early samples of this set, including ours, will accept a 1080p/24fps input from most Blu-ray players that offer it, but not from Samsung's Blu-ray player, the BD-P1200! While Samsung has told us that there is an update for the set to correct this, it cannot be installed via the Wiselink USB slot mentioned earlier. But since the set converts any 1080p/24 input to 1080p/60 anyway, this issue may be moot for most users. I did most of my Blu-ray viewing on this set via Samsung's BD-P1200 player, at 1080p/60. “

It is disappointing that there is very few true 1080P/24 displays on the market that refresh at multiplies of the original frame. Most manufactories have decided to make cheap quality 1080P/24 input compatible displays that performs a 3:2 pulldown which results in refresh rates of 60HZ only. It would be ideal if manufactories would focus on quality when including a 1080P/24 input. Most displays that have 1080P/24 are nothing more then marketing buzz words to attract consumers into purchasing their display. Only a few companies make true 1080P/24 displays that refresh at multiplies of the original frame in order to get the benefits of 1080P/24.
Here is an example of a display that handles 1080P/24 poorly
Quote
“The Samsung will accept a 1080p/24fps input, but it converts it internally to 1080p/60fps prior to display. And it will not accept a 1080p/24fps input from Samsung's own BD-P1200 Blu-ray player, a trait it shares with the Samsung LN-T5265F flat panel LCD.
It did accept a 1080p/24 input from the Pioneer Elite BDP-HD1 BD player, but its 24fps performance with that player was unsatisfactory. It skipped a frame or two every few minutes, which caused the image to stutter. I sent 1080p/60 to the set for all of my HD disc viewing. “
