I'm sick. So I spent the day at home watching season 3. I love this show.

Isn't just a lot of fun? I HATED it the first time I watched it, cause I thought there was something very wrong with Sheldon and I refused to watch. Than I watched the very first few episodes and I suddenly understood him and found the genius in this show. Now I'm a huge fan.

I haven't watched any of season 1 yet.

Penny and Sheldon have some of the best scenes in any sitcom ever.

On another note: the gag reel for season 3 has a frakking laugh track!?

It's so creepy.

Cause season 2 was on sale 8 months ago when I bought it, and 1 has been impossible to find till Tuesday.

It's a sitcom. It doesn't really matter if I watch it in order.

It is a sitcom but they do develop the relationships and explain a lot of the jokes that happen more than other sitcoms. I think Wheaton first showed up in the first season and it's always fun to watch Sheldon and Wheaton's relationship.

Why not just have her back home visiting family? Isn't that a very simple and easy reason?

Hiatus extended, Kaley Cuoco to miss a few episodes
Quote:
First the good news: Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco is expected to make a full recovery in the wake of a weekend horseback-riding accident that left her with a fractured leg.

Now the bad news: It looks like the CBS hitcom will be Penny-less for more than one episode.

Although a Warner Bros. spokesperson declined to comment, a Big Bang source confirms that Cuoco—who remains hospitalized in Los Angeles—is now expected to miss “a few” episodes; initial reports had her missing just a single episode.

Additionally, the show—which was previously scheduled to go on hiatus next week—will shut down production for an additional week. Producers will use the extra downtime to determine how best to explain Cuoco’s absence onscreen.

The source points out that Big Bang‘s air schedule will not be impacted by the disruption, which comes as the series is making a high-profile move to Thursday nights.

Regarding the gag reel for season 3, that's not a laugh track. Big Bang Theory is recorded in front of a studio audience. If you do the tour with Kunal (Raj) and Simon (Howard), there are times when you can see the bleacher style seats in the background.

No it's not. That's a serious detriment to productivity. Those bleachers have been in that stage since the 60's.

Are you certain? I've seen interviews with Jim Parsons on YouTube where he's indicated that the show is filmed in front of a studio audience.

I think there have been at least ten. Maybe 20. But not the whole seasons.

That seems like a pretty solid reason to explain her absence. A lot of the time she has little to no role in episodes so I think the show wouldn't suffer without her for 2-3 episodes. They could just give Raj or Wolowitz a secondary plotline to make up for her absence.

Is it just me or is that just annoying hearing people laugh every 5 secs?

Oh it's very annoying, but every single show on CBS does it. I tend to not mind for the most part with HIMYM or Big Bang, but any of their other "comedies" makes me want to cave my own head in with a brick.

Mainly because HIMYM and TBBT are actually funny. The others... Not so much.
