Oh, Brie ... soda and popcorn? You disappoint me.

Of course we don't know that she drank or ate that. I hope not.

Those are essential for movie viewings at the theater.

Why do you say I hope not?

I say that because neither of those are even remotely good for you. And also because she has the gigantic sizes of each. I honestly don't believe she drank or ate either. I mean, look at the woman. She's not guzzling sodas right and left. Well, unless it's Coke Zero, I suppose.

Actually, the theater is the only place I drink soda anymore, other than Coke Zero. And I absolutely hate popcorn. It's gross and tasteless. It's only the fake butter that makes it even remotely edible -- and that stuff is disgusting and horrible for you.

I am sure she didn't eat that whole tub of popcorn at one time. Or She likely was there with friends and they shared. and took whatever was left of the soda with her. or shared that too.

She clearly works out. So that doesn't matter if she has a little snack at the theater.

Of course Brie didn’t drink and eat all that. Brie was just promoting Captain Marvel in that picture. AMC probably gave her the biggest one to make fans want to get it.

My theory as well.

But it's still sort of disgusting.

Plus she was on them.

Conspiracy working the concessions she made everyone get the biggest one with her face on it.

You make it sound like only overweight people eat and drink that.

If you drink huge sodas and eat giant popcorns with that gross fake butter, you WILL be overweight -- fact.

It's amazing how big the difference is between the US and, say, France when it comes to obesity. Now granted, I've only really been to Paris on my two trips. Maybe it's different in other parts of France, but I doubt it. Even watching the Women's World Cup you can tell how much more fit and thin people are there.

I mean, I go to the grocery story practically every day and half the time I'm standing in line behind someone obese with some vile cart filled with the most repugnant junk food. I always feel sorry for her children.

I don't even consume popcorn or sodas in theaters, they're too expensive.

Regardless of what I eat (junk food, fast food, healthy food etc), I still look slim.

Anyways, back on-topic:

Yeah, if you keep doing that. But you made it sound like that if she had one of those each? But I doubt if it have it once and a while it will happen.

Well, I go to the theater like 2 or 3, maybe 4 times a year. So a medium Coke definitely doesn't hurt my wallet in reality.

Metroid movie: Why Brie Larson would be the perfect Samus Aran

Quote:
Brie Larson has been quite the topic ever since she hit mainstream success by nabbing the role of Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Outside of her acting career, Larson is vocal in the political scene. As an outspoken person with strong viewpoints, she has ruffled a few feathers over the past couple years. However, that’s not what I want to delve into today. Why? Well, simply because it has nothing to do with the topic at hand: why Brie Larson should play the first live-action Samus Aran.

Brie Larson started it

First, what brought me to this topic? Well, Brie Larson herself has openly talked about wanting to star as Samus Aran in a Metroid movie. Aside from that, Nintendo has shown interest in testing out the movie and TV waters again with its IP. Thus, here we are.

Brie Larson rocking Samus Halloween attire

Captain Marvel was arguably Brie Larson’s first huge foray into the spotlight, even though she won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2015 for Room. (Most nerds know her from Scott Pilgrim fame too.) So it was the first time a lot of people saw Brie Larson act. I’ll be honest — I don’t think Captain Marvel is a great first impression for the actor. I think she’s a fantastic actor, but I wasn’t very fond of her as Captain Marvel (at least, not yet. Maybe she’ll grow on me.). It’s hard for me to put my finger on, but there was something off-putting about Captain Marvel’s writing and line delivery that just didn’t jive with me. To add to that, despite being the main protagonist, I felt like I barely knew who Carol Danvers was after watching the movie.

Lucky for me, Captain Marvel wasn’t where I first got to see Larson’s acting chops. Aside from seeing her small role in Scott Pilgrim, I saw her jaw-dropping performance in Room. In the film, Larson played a kidnapped rape victim being held captive in a shed with her son. Larson’s performance was heartbreaking, mesmerizing, and absolutely unforgettable.

We saw Larson’s character in complete desperation and solitude. A lot of the film has no dialogue, and much of the story is told through the facial expressions of Larson’s character; it’s quite heartbreaking. I won’t jump into Room spoilers because it’s fairly niche and you should definitely watch it. However, after seeing Larson in that role, it’s easy to imagine her as Samus. Metroid is all about isolation and Samus forcing her way through treacherous places as a one-woman army. Playing Samus would require the same expertise Larson used in Room.

Metroid is one of Nintendo’s “grittiest” franchises, and I would love to see them lean into that in a live-action depiction. It seems now more than ever Nintendo is open to associating its brand with more mature content. Do I ever see any of this happening? Of course not — it’s a pipe dream. However, Nintendo is full of surprises lately, so who knows?

How would you feel about Brie Larson in such an iconic role? Do you think she could pull it off? Be sure to leave all of your thoughts in the comments section below, or join the discussion over on our Facebook page.

1. I have no idea who this character is.

2. I really, really hope he's right and it's all a pipe dream. One big franchise character is definitely enough. Well, I guess two, if you count King Kong. I want to see her making smaller, serious movies like Room again. Don't get me wrong, as I love CM and KK. But another franchise character would likely take up 100% of her time.

Well, Cm will be taking up quite a bit of time. I am sure you won't have to worry about Skull Island. As the next film is the last and that follows King Of The Monsters.

She has a smaller film out early next year with Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Fox. Who directed her in Short Term 12 and The Glass Castle.

Samus Aran is a soldier character who wears a helmet and has very little dialogue and its based more on their body movements from what I heard.

A tweet from her. she is a big gamer. So if she wants to get it made. I'm sure she will.

Yeah, I'm bummed about Skull Island ending, to be honest. I LOVED the first one.

Yep. Should have kept it in the past. so that way for future films should have had those actors return. Unless that was the plan all along. To not tie them up with the series and be a one and done.

Oh, captain my captain.

Thanks.

While my work never taught me etiquette in the event of a celebrity, I figured it was common sense to not be weird and treat them like people. It's served me well so far.
