Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers (born October 1, 1989), known professionally as Brie Larson, is an American actress, singer, and director.

She was a series regular on the 2001 sitcom Raising Dad, she had a role in the in the comedy 13 Going on 30 starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo. She was in Scott Pilgrim vs the World she played the ex rocker girlfriend of Scott, Envy Adams lead singer for Clash at Demonhead. She was in 21 Jump Street, Greenberg, The Spectacular Now and Don Jon. She starred in Short Term 12 with John Gallagher Jr. ( HBO's The Newsroom). She also starred in Trainwreck opposite Amy Schumer as her sister Kim. She just won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Ma in Lenny Abrahamson Room, Emma Donoghue wrote the screenplay based on her own novel. Brie Larson won the best actress Oscar for Room.

I doubt Cate Blanchet Wins. And as much as I want Jen to win. Not gonna happen. So Brie seems like the only other choice. I mean other than Saoirse Ronan.

This is how I see it playing out:

Cate -- 70%

Saoirse & Brie -- Tied at 15% each

When it comes right down to it, Cate is Cate. And as good as those other two surely were, they aren't. I mean, seriously:

And there is no "they." You've got roughly 5,700 members of the Academy, most of whom are actors. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Cate garnered the most votes. Everyone loves Cate. Like I said, she's Cate.

Also, note that I didn't give Larson or Ronan NO chance. I just said that it's quite likely that Cate will win again. And I don't see anything yet that makes me think otherwise.

I don't see Cate winning. Especially if Rooney Mara gets nominated as well. They'll cancel each other out. Plus it would be unheard of in modern times for someone to get 3 acting Oscars this quickly. It took Jack Nicholson 22 years, Daniel Day-Lewis 23 years, and Meryl Streep 32 years. If Blanchett won for Carol, that would be 3 Oscars in 11 years. Not happening.

And BTW, Brie gave a better performance.

For one, it doesn't matter how quickly or not it happens. It's not like the 5,700 Academy members all send memos back and forth to each other coming up with some conspiracy on whom to vote for. Hell, a lot of them don't even fill out their own ballot, but leave it to their housekeeper/nanny/daughter/whomever.

And I will say that there is less than 1% chance that Rooney will be in the Best Actress category with Cate. There is NO WAY that Harvey is going to let that happen. Yes, it happened at the Globes, but the nominating process there is very different. At the Oscars, if Harvey doesn't want it to happen, it isn't going to happen.
