Sometimes I get an urge to do otherwise, and I kinda have to slap myself in the face. One of the stores I visited this morning had 2 Hangover steelbooks. Was tempted to buy one, then had to remind myself that I don't even like that movie. |

From the outskirts of Los Angeles:
I went to 13 (lol) stores this morning and... only 3 had the endcaps! Most stores didn't have anything new out. The other stores that did have new stuff the most they had in electronics was two boxes. Still, I had a good run as I found a couple of movies that I had been looking for for a long time. BLU: Earthquake (Felt obliged getting this since I live in California. Plus, I'm old and remember when '70s disaster movies were a thing.) Friday (Director's Cut) (I almost didn't get this because I'm mad at Ice Cube) Keanu (I actually bought 2 copies of this, one for a Xmas present and one for me... I couldn't resist that cat on the cover. I felt bad taking the store's only 2 copies but luckily this was at other stores I went to, so it's a pretty common title out here, I think.) Return of the Living Dead (Yes, finally) Superman III (Only reason I got this is because Richard Pryor is in it) Triple Feature Action (Vol. 1): XIII: The Conspiracy / JCVD / Brotherhood (Wanted this for JCVD but Brotherhood looks like it might be good and want to see it.) Westworld (1973) (Upgrade) DVD: Bronx Bull (I'm a sucker for boxing movies) Bunnicula: Night of the Vegetable (20 Episodes) (This showed up before. Got it for my nephew) Chai Lai Angels: Dangerous Flowers (Couldn't resist hot women kicking ass) The Devil's Candy (Was looking for this a couple of waves ago. It has a slip cover, too) Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films (This was the find of the day for me. Been wanting this for years. This was showing up at Dollar Tree like a year or more ago and could never find it.) The Ranger (A blind buy. It's a slasher about punk rockers out in the woods. Hope it's good. ) Yakuza Apocalypse (Never seen this either, but I'm always willing to give a Takashi Miike film a chance.) Anyways, I studied this thread before going out and wrote down over 30 titles I was looking for. Out of those I only found 9. But I usually only find about a 1/3 or less of what I'm looking for each wave, so... Was really hoping to find Purple Rain (BLU) but no luck... again. I didn't find any BLUS like The Nice Guys, Queen of the Damned, Love & Basketball and The Lego Batman Movie, which seem to be common in other states. Some of the more common BLUs I saw out here were The Road Warrior, The House, Live By Night, Superman III. Some BLUs I saw that I don't remember seeing listed before I went out: Breathe In Dawn of the Dragon Slayer The Riverman |

Someone mentioned earlier "how do you choose?" That time, I chose No. I might go back for it this weekend because it's $1, but I'll be OK if it isn't there. |

I believe it was Mike of AMERICAN PICKERS who once said “it’s not about what you bought but what you didn’t buy.” Sometimes I’ll get home to do research only to discover I should have bought it when I had it in my hand. I try to do my research while in the store. Dvd Talk and Amazon are usually good sources for reviews.

My copy of War Dogs did. I used to think that WB titles with both BD and DVD would have a digital code, but I was wrong. My copy of Gravity came with both discs without a digital code. It's always a crapshoot to find digital code from WB titles.

1/3 stores had them out in the X-Mas endcap. The receipt does have "endcap" in it. This wasn't the store I was waiting at; it was 1/2 stores that are further out of my local drive. (These 2 are in nearby cities, but not part of the cluster of DTs that are part of my main routes.) Quite a few repeat WB blus from last Wave (Chips, Live By Night, Horrible Bosses 2), but more new ones.
![]() Also saw these DVD notables: Pitsburgh Steelers:: Super Bowl Champions (with slip) Greatest Rivalries: Cowboys vs. Washington Football Team (3 full games) Jedi Junkies (Star Wars fans doc) The Flash (Best of DC Animation) Outlaws (BBC) Rellik (BBC) Happy to find Earthquake. Hoping Batmans show up. Only saw 1 West Coast poster report Batman stuff; not sure if they're in Cali. Last edited by TheBluRayBandito; 11-27-2020 at 09:09 PM. |
