I just think it's strange that a 40 year old acting vet needs to read cards to give a simple but emotional rant. But he did use drugs a lot years ago. That might have affected his cognitive abilities.

I hate politics even if it is a necessary evil. All it does is divide people on discussion boards.

People acting like catalog releases mostly only being sold online is some kind of new revelation or dark mystery. Catalog blu has been a niche market since the beginning pretty much, and there's nothing weird or dark about shopping online in 2017. When I have to go to a retail store to buy a movie I feel weird.

I watched this disc last night projected. Overall, I thought the transfer itself was good, but definitely some issues with the encoding. I liked the new color timing and overall look to the image including the gamma, but the grain is not nicely rendered in a way that it should be on a 35mm 4K transfer with good encoding. What I saw in the screenshots didn't really improve with motion and watching at 124" probably didn't help with it. I look more forward to when this is released on UHD BD as I think we'll be in for a real treat then. But for $8.99, I cannot complain too much.

Ah. I'll pick that one up. Thanks.

Gotta be some others, guys?! Reference quality blu transfers of 90s era 35mm (preferably Scope) to compare to Heat.

Your display is more or less reference quality if video calibration is top shelf!

What's troubling is, I'm starting to notice a general trend on new BDs (whether catalogs like this one or brand new movies): quality of encoding is slipping. I'm not sure if studios have decided to just put this kind of effort into UHD BDs instead or what. However, I seem to recall DVDs slipping once BDs came out. Maybe they figure the people who care about this kind of thing will just buy the UHD BD so why spend as much time on it. I suppose improved optics and equipment is putting a magnifying glass on these kind of issues too.

The bigger mystery is why anyone would ever bother ordering anything from Walmart.

Personally, I do not care at all about any celebrity's political opinion any more than I care about yours or anymore than you care about mine. You, me, and celebrities are entitled to have such opinions and to express them publicly.

Is it wise to make political remarks when popularity is an important part of your career? Doing so almost guarantees angering a large percentage of people. Regardless, it is their right to do so. Being famous does not require a vow of silence.

I only care about the quality of their work. If I were buying your product, I would only care about the quality of your work. If you are not running for public office, or hold such a position already, I simply do not care what political opinions you (they) hold.

Why not? I ordered the disc online for $8.99 and then picked it up yesterday.. watched the disc last night. No where else could I get the disc that fast and cheap.

well it is a catalog title and the few stores that are actually getting it in are getting anywhere from 3 - 8 copies. Plus it's got an attractive low price so all that considered, it's not that hard to believe

My experiences ordering with them have been nightmares. Even when I buy something in-store it's only if they've got a really sweet deal or (rarely) some nice exclusive.

Walmart and Target are making efforts with online shopping. We all need Amazon to have legit competition.

The only problem I've had picking up an online order at Walmart is waiting for a store clerk. The service at Target and Best Buy is far more professional and, honestly, I'm not asking for much.

MrBGone, I also reside in the same city. I pre-ordered my copy for pickup from the Walmart in Evergreen Park. My order status shows that it is still processing. Most likely the armored car delivering the discs to our region was held up by men wearing hockey masks.

I was hoping to watch it this weekend.....

Target is OK, they ship things out kinda late but I'm usually fine with that unless it's something super exclusive. If my copy comes a day or two after release date and is damaged, then I'll have to scramble to find a replacement. Best Buy is the only one of the main three B&Ms that's reliable with online orders/the in-store experience in general. I barely use Amazon for movies.
