What about $90 for just one 24x36 of this bad boy. I'm probably going end up (taking my best shot at) doing this, but in your infinite wisdom, what do you think about the price vs. value?

I am guessing it will have a shiny coating but then again, the site that reported the prints may be mistaken. Mondo has sold variants for more $90 I believe in the past. There is no doubt the prints will sell out and sell out fast, eBay will be flooded, demand will come down, a bit, the prints will steady out in price and then slowly rise as supply decreases and demand slowly rises.

Infinite wisdom? LOL! Mondo prints can be a hit or miss. So many people speculate on the price, its really hard to tell anyone. Clearly the earlier Mondo offerings is where the long term value is. Not saying the new stuff has no value, not at all, but the older stuff was so limited, and is still so very much in demand, it drives the prices up. Look at the earlier Stout pieces like The Thing? When one of those pops up, its easily over $2000 now. Not bad for a print that sold for $40 less than four years ago. I think that is probably the most wanted print, it is for me at least.

If your plan is to buy a set for $90 ($104 after shipping), and if you can get $90+ for the one you don't want, and keep the other, then yes, you would be doing quite well, having the print you want for very little out of pocket. Die-hard collectors will want a set...a matching set number wise, but there will be people who just want one, or the other. If you are planning on reselling one, the best advice is get it up online sooner than later. As soon as Mondo prints sell out, everyone turns to eBay right away. I suspect these will sell out in under 30 seconds to 60 seconds.

Good luck to those who will be trying for a set too.

Kinsella, Murkurial was actually linking to a print by another artist, one I haven't heard of myself. The print looks pretty cool I think...

Since I'm not familiar with this artist I would find it difficult to gauge whether this piece is a good 'investment' or not, but at $90 for a 30 piece run, I think that is pretty solid and the $50 for 300 is fair is well. I don't think you can go wrong with either if you like the piece.

The only comment I would make is from an investment piece stand point, the artist does say in the comments that he would consider running more of these prints if this run is successful... so that may scare some people off. I suppose if the print runs are clearly defined as 'first run' and 'second run' and are appropriately numbered it shouldn't be too big of a deal.

Edit... updated the $50 for 30 to $50 for 300.

Ahh I didn't see that link in his message initially. Hard to say regarding that Drive print, I mean $90 is a lot for that single print. The film was a sleeper, and there seemed to be a lot of people wanting the movie poster, which there weren't not that many that got out there onto the collector's market, but unsure what the long term potential is on these. While I have not seen the film, unsure if there was enough in it to spawn sequels, but I say if someone is a big fan of the film, to pick the print up regardless.

I am unsure of who the artist is either, and I would say $90 does seem to be a bit expensive for the larger size, I think a better price point would have been $30 for the smaller ones and $75 for the larger ones, but its nice that they are all signed and numbered, most of the Mondo ones are only numbered. 300 seems like a high print run as well, I guess when they go on sale in 45 minutes how well they do. Not a bad print at all, the artist has talent, just unsure what the demand is for a print for that film, but then again, I have seen prints for smaller films than that which have done well.

This is what I'm thinking about doing. It would be nice to know if they are going to do a matching set of numbers when they ship since they are selling them as a set. I'm not sure if Mondo has done that or not with previous releases. Also I've never sold anything on ebay so I'm not sure if that would hurt my ability to sell the one I don't want. It would be nice to be able to cover the cost of both posters and maybe a little bit extra to put toward a frame.

I was confused by the post on his site, it mentinoed the prints were being done in Halifax, but shipping from Florida. I know another really great screen printer in Halifax, I'd like to see the job these guys do on this poster but I'm not sold on the pink in the print as far as it fitting into my rooms decor. Don't get me wrong, I do like the print a lot.

No hot pink rooms in your house to match it up with ? I picked up one of the smaller prints. I asked about reprints and he said any future printing would have an altered color palate.

I had to grab one of these mini posters too. It's the same artist and this movie was made in my hometown.

Was the large one there as well? If so, how much larger does it look relative to the 22x28? If not, is that 22x28 a good-looking, wall-filling size in your opinion?

I don't know what sizes he offers on the Hobo poster, I only saw the small one. I think there's a link to his website a few posts back.(signalnoise) I'm no expert on posters, but I thought the 22x28 Drive poster was pretty sweet. I don't think I would mount it on a wall with other standard size movie posters on it, but it would look fine by itself.

Ansin acquired!! If anyone would be interested in the original Tron poster let me know. I'd give anyone on here a better deal than I would on ebay.

Oops, maybe he doesn't sell that one on the site. I bought it in person.

If a person was able to get a set, then they would have matching numbers on both prints. They have done that before, so if you got a set, then you would get the same number on both prints. I myself forgot about the drop, I have been working a lot on my inventory and then simply forgot about the drop this morning. We got pounded with snow here in Seattle, its still coming down, and when we get hit, people panic. The roads are all bad where I live, so its pretty much staying in until it is ok for me to get out there. Neither rain nor sleet nor snow, the posters must go!

Now that's what I call great customer service!

Had some paper show up yesterday. A real bugger to track down but you can't hide from me.

Congrats on finding that poster you wanted. Yeah in Seattle when we get hit with snow, it literally shuts down everything. We got dumped on, the bulk of it hit Tuesday night, and now there are nearly 300,000 people out of power (luckily not me) and they will be out for days. Parts had an ice storm after the snow, but basically my road to get out of my neighborhood is pretty bad so I have not wanted to risk it but I may try today.

Anyone dealt with the seller d-d on ebay. Their paypal comes up as hollywoodonpaper. I took a chance but am wondering because the listing and information were kind of sketchy info wise.

New to the forum, but figure I'll "ask the audience"...

I recently picked up a GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO 27x40 DS from my local theater. It is the one with Rooney Mara half-naked. However, it has the THIS FILM IS NOT YET RATED sticker on it. Do you know if this sticker is removable? Or should I leave it on there?
