I've had almost 3 years of PS3 goodness that those who waited can never make up.

Oh...and because I'm in Canada, I paid $700 for mine. Still happy I did it...wouldn't change a thing.

Have Had my 60 GB PS3 since launch, never had an issue and think it was worth every penny of the $600 (more like $750 after also buying first game, a blu ray movie and HDMI cable I bought with it) I paid.

Just bought a sleek new 120 gb slim PS3 the other day so My ol' trusty 60 GB will now sit under a dust cover and be used as a back up if I ever need it to be.

I still have my OG PS2 that has worked for about 7 years as well. Playstation is the only way to go IMHO.

i still miss my 80 GB motorstorm bundle, i liked having the memory card slots on the front and the backwards compatiility, (although mostly for god of war 1 & 2, and thats not going to be a problem much longer!!!) but sadly the blu ray laser stopped reading discs and i am now stuck with a 40 GB SKU with none of those features, although the HD is upgraded to 320 GB, but i prefer the look of the old ones to the slim, so i am still happy with my purchase

i have absolutely no regrets. aside from the 60 gb being the best model ever released (from the extra memory slots to the actual ps2 hardware inside for better backwards compatibility than later models) i dont see it as a bad deal having to pay an extra $300 dollars but having it a full 2 1/2 years longer than everyone else. the way i see, all the entertainment i got out its use in those 2 1/2 years was worth way more than $300.

I don't get the reason to "regret" for purchasing a new technology simply because the price drops in 3 years.
Basically, you ended up paying $100 to use that system and you get to enjoy the system for 3 years while the late boomers are only starting to catch up.

You just can't regret with consumer goods.

Even with mattress, you either buy it now and sleep on it, or sleep on the floor and wait for a sale.

Regrets?? Hell no! Like everybody else in this thread, I do not regret getting my launch 60GB back in 2006. I didn't do eBay. I did EBgames/GameStop. Probably the best consumer electronics purchase decision in my entire life... on second thought... it IS the best c.e. purchase decision I ever made The 60GB PS3 is a digital media powerhouse, baby!

I would happily pay $600 again if I could buy one with SACD, Card readers, and PS2 BC. Preferably satin silver!

Loved my 60GB PS3... right up until it went YLOD on me.

LOOOOOOOVE the 60GB! I would rather have the almost 3yrs experience with BD and games than wait and pay less. Also, use the card slots ALL THE TIME and it's nice having the four USB slots up front. Backwards compatibility is nice but not really needed for me... Once you play a PS3 game, there's no going back.

I bought my 60 gig ps3 with 5 brand new games about 3 weeks after launch from a close friend for 500$. I even took it to a deployment to Iraq with me and it has put its work in. And like the guy earlier said I love that I have been experiencing blu ray, hd dvd and hd tv for over 3 years now. When most of my Friends don't even have blu ray players yet.

I'm really glad I have a launch day model; probably one of the few occasions when the initial release is actually better than subsequent revisions.

I do like the new slim though, but I have the card slots (yeah, they get used) and PS2 compatibility (yeah, my kid still loves War of the Monsters (a game that deserves a PSN release in HD))

I guess we should ask the poster if they regret not buying a $600 PS3 at launch and getting a 360 instead that they then returned to MS 5 or 6 times.

No regrets? Not even buying Conan?

(PS: It's paid, not payed. "Payed" is only used to describe a boat that's been waterproofed.)

Hey... I knew that "payed" wasn't the proper spelling for that scenario. However, I did not know that it meant "waterproofing a boat."

I just went through my receipt box and found the ps3's with the extended warranty......hot damn!!!!!.......I paid $499... ......for some reason I thought I paid $399 for it. As long as it doesn't break on me, I have no regrets, it truly is one remarkable piece of equipment.
