“Good” “not good”. This is not advertised outside the theater and that is the issue with these 4DX theaters…there’s no way to know how the quality is going to be until you’ve spent your hard earned money & time!

Finally watched this film in 3D yesterday, and the 3D was pretty good! There was really good depth throughout, some moments looked like they were meant to be watched in 3D alone. I don't know whether it was the projection of my theater, but the only complaint I have is that there are some dark scenes that looked more darker in 3D, making it hard to see. Overall it was a great experience in 3D, hoping Sony releases this on 3D Blu-ray.

This thread like Venom 2 also needs to be closed until 3D is confirmed

Where did you get this information from ? Sony home division is still to release SM NWH in all territories. If your info is non official it sounds really premature to assume that.

Interesting to read the different thoughts on 3D here, seems to vary a bit which is always of note. It's nice to have threads where we can discuss and read about the 3D experience in cinemas.

This movie has no confirmation for no 3D blu-ray, and people are still typing about their 3D screenings experiences.

Calm down.

He's typing about a slim possibility that in a year or two that RSM can deliver these 2 movies with 3D versions. As he sayed: "that's a coin toss".

I was a bit underwhelmed by the 3D in this movie - quality was generally fine, errors and warpiness in the usual places, but it didn't feel like it was used especially well. Very few moments where it struck me and I couldn't really name any 3D shots that stand out in my mind in retrospect.

Movie was fun. Don't think it's actually a great movie in and of itself but that's not the point. As a very ambitious jam-packed bundle of fanservice it had a million chances to be an awful mess so it's mostly just impressive they pulled it off. Just one real plot hole that nags at me.

I beg your pardon. Would you like to rephrase that?
There is also no evidence there will be a 3d blu ray so....

Is this a joke? It’s still showcasing in 3D theatrically. My tickets are for this weekend, so it’d be nice if I wasn’t arbitrarily limited from discussing the theatrical 3D experience in here

Portuguese cheek aside.
I would like to apologise. I hadn't realised the 3d forum section had been changed to discuss all things 3d movies. My bad. I will back out gracefully

If RSM could somehow get this one it would be the type of title that could change the outlook of their company. A title this big, or something like MI:Fallout would garner a LOT of sales internationally, much more so than Jumanji or HT3. They might see revenues they didn't expect which could drive more 3D licenses. It's a stretch of course, but this is such a large franchise it would be worth their effort. While they've obviously released other spiderman 3D films, those were also available in other territories. I have to imagine they could sell 5-10k copies of this in 3D if it's limited to AUS release but I could be way off

I think that’s kind of the problem. A greedy company like Sony probably isn’t going to want another company to get all that profit of the back of their hottest commodity. If their instinct is to not release it, they’d probably rather not release it at all then let someone else do what they should have done. That’s just my logic based on them not giving Venom 2 to RSM.

Well I finally saw this movie in 4DX.

The movie itself was excellent. Top tier cinematic comic book magic.

The 3D was better than I expected too. I don’t usually expect great 3D presentation at the 4DX cinema I go to regardless, but it was consistently medium throughout IMO, often increasing to medium strong in some sequences and strong for a select few I noticed. It perhaps could have been better but I thought overall it was very solid and could probably look even better if the stars aligned and we got a 3D disc.

Boy do I hope those stars align! It would be a crime for Sony to be the ones to end the perfect streak of 3D MCU Blu-Rays, which has been going strong for 10 years now starting with Thor.

To confirm, the Sony and Disney hire different people to do the 3D, Right? Because the 3D in Homecoming and FFH is definitely weaker than other Marvel movies in Phase 3.

That was my assumption as well, but on IMDB there is a Stereo Supervisor or some such credited for both No Way Home and Doctor Strange 2. Perhaps he was brought on to make sure the Doctor Strange effects were consistent across both films, even if I expect Doctor Strange 2 to have much stronger 3D. Sony and Marvel’s approach to 3D could differ in other ways. I heard No Way Home was still shooting up until the last minute, so perhaps the 3D conversion was started later than average for Marvel Studios.

I was specifically talking about Homecoming and FFH because I saw NWH in 2D.
The 3D in Homecoming and FFH is medium when every other movie in MCU Phase three is strong. And the coming thread is Homecoming and FFH is a Sony funded project. The effects (for example) is done by Sony Imageworks rather than ILM (like normal MCU) so I wonder if Sony has been using a different company for 3D.
