The name of the dirtector is Steven Spielberg not "Speilberg".

Yeah, excellent trailer! This has got Best Picture written all over it! Not to mention, Best Actor (Lewis), Best Supporting Actor (Jones or Strathairn), Best Supporting Actress (Field)...

Spielberg doesn't exactly own or has any say for ILM does it? I know he's used it religiously almost his entire career, but I'm curious too if he's gone to WETA now?

When I watched the trailer for the first time, it definitely wasn't what I was expecting...however, watching it again days later, it looks better after a second viewing.

Spielberg didn't create this movie only to be catered to PG-13 rating, he filmed it how he intended to be filmed, and it turned out the movie got a PG-13 rating....I mean, this isn't Schindler's List...

The movie isn't about the war, it's about Lincoln. It didn't need an R rating. 'Gettysburg' and 'Gods and Generals' did a fine job depicting the war without the R rating, and Glory did a fine job with the R rating. The rating doesn't make the movie, it's how the subject matter is handled that matters. It doesn't have to have limbs being blown off and loos every where to make its point. We all know war is grotesque, they don't need to wallow in it.

Specifically, as this is the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, that's likely the focus of the movie that got it out of limbo and timely pushed through the studios in the first place.
The trailers certainly suggest the focus will be on Lincoln's personal struggles with the decision.

If you want a lot of cannon explosions and fake beards, go watch the Ted Turner movies.

There are very few war scenes in this film. It's about the politics of Lincoln during The Civil War. I thought all along this would probably be a PG-13 film.
