Are you saying skip the theatrical cut and release only the extended cut? Because usually when the start with the director's cut, they forget about the theatrical cut completely and I don't agree with that. I'm happy with the theatrical cut thank you very much.

The extended cut doesn't really add that much to the film anyway, and on DVD it was handled via seamless branching. Don't see why the same couldn't be used for Blu.

I liked the extended version myself, but I've read previously that it was handled poorly with bad transitions and poor audio quality for the extra footage. I don't know if there's any truth to that, but I did enjoy the extra character development.

I've only seen the extended version on cable tv, all the commericals always ruin the movie. I own the original cut of this movie but if they ever release the extended cut i'll pick up that one also. One of my favorite movies of all time.

If anyone cares, the dump bin version also has new cover art instead of the early Blu "template" art that was used on all Fox titles.

I don't know mate,I haven't got it,I thought about it but I didn't really enjoy it all that much,bit of a cheese fest.

I hate this movie. I saw it at a screening a month prior to its release. Dean Devlin (the Producer) address the audience just before it started.
The beginning of showing the arrival of the alien crafts on Earth was ripped-off from the Original "V" Miniseries. From there on, especially the ending was right out of the Original War of the Worlds. The guy sitting in the row directly ahead of me was so mad he threw the press kit folder (we all were given) down on the floor and walked out. In the lobby after the film most were just complaining how so many scenes were out right stolen from War of the Worlds. My review was in Films In Review and I gave it a big thumbs down. It's just such a stupid horrible movie - then again, most of Roland Emmeric are either stolen material or just plain stupid.

watching it now. First time on Bluray. Have to say that I dont like having to crank up the audio for the dialogue and down for the action. But I will say the use of the surround sound channels is awesome.

Just watched this for the first time on blu ray. I love this movie; I remember seeing it in thearters when I was a kid.

I thought the PQ was pretty good. Some of the effects look pretty dated due to the hi def I think; fire and explosion scenes in particular. AQ is stellar though
