Decided to pull the trigger on the motif to match the Logans. I should have everything set up in about a week. I'll post a pic once I do. Can't contain my excitment.

Edit that, looks like the Motif X comes out in a couple of days with an improved tweeter. Thankfully my guy called me and let me change it (for the more expensive one, how kind lol).

Improved tweeter? Did you decide on surrounds?

XStat™ Transducer & Folded Motion™ Tweeter
What really sets the Motif X apart is a innovative Folded Motion tweeter embedded directly behind the XStat electrostatic panel in a unique housing that gives the visual look of a seamless electrostatic panel. By eliminating the need for a bulky tweeter-housing mounted in front of the ESL panel, the Motif X all but eliminates high-frequency diffraction. This unique mounting system also increases mid-range/high-frequency phase coherence and time alignment while offering superior dispersion characteristics. Folded Motion tweeter technology proves an ideal match for the electrostatic transducers, providing lightning fast transient response combined with a large surface area (8-times that of a typical 1" dome tweeter) to create clear, dynamic and precise sound.

I'm going to stick with my LSI'7s for now and run them off the SC-05. Not looking to spend money on new surround just yet, many at the end of next quarter. I am starting to think about in wall speakers. My room is difficult to work with and I think they may work best. I live in a town home with the living room dining room and kitchen all connected. That means the left surround side speaker back is to a wall but the right surround side speaker back is to an open space. Logistically it's very difficult to work with. My celling are only 8ft so in walls won't be too far away. Just a thought.

My dealer is going to let me swap out my motif for the motif x since I just got it less than a month ago.

Says he was told they'll be in by the end of February. By then I may just get the stage x since I'll have my tax refund

That would have to be quite the tax refund. My motif x is expect to arrive on the 17th. I cannot wait. What kind of TV stand do you have? I am using a Standout Designs Horizon. The Motif is 1 in wider than the center ch section on the stand so I'm not sure if it will fit. The speaker slants inwards on the sides so I'm thinking I may be able to fit it if I leave it stick out a bit. I'm not sure if that would effect the sound though. If not I will have to wall mount my tv.

I just got a new stand actually. I go a stand from Ikea. Its one of there modular stands. Its 2 47" wide stands put together to make a 94" wide stand. I was thinking of getting a BDI or Salamander Quad 30, or even a standout stand but would rather spend the money on gear vs a stand.

You need to get a projector and screen if you can. I love it.

The Stage is only $1,000 more than the motif at full msrp so that's not bad. I'm not sure I'll do that though. May just get some ML surrounds. I'm thinking of getting an amp like what you just got. I've never used a pro amp. Wouldn't it put out too much power for the ML's. The theos are rated to handle 400 watts. Is the sound quality just as good as a home theater amp?

Doubt if you "overpower" them. It's better to have more power than too little. It's a clipped signal that usually damages a speaker.

What does to much power mean?

Just thought too much power could possibly harm the speaker along the lines of clipping. I know speaker companies put a range of power handling for some reason.

The crown has a clipping meter. If the gain is set correctly your ears will bleed before it ever starts to distort.

Clipping happens when an amp runs out of clean power and sends a clipped (dirty and distorted) signal to keep up. If you have a powerful amp it will always be able to meet the demands of your speakers. MLs can dip down to 2 ohms....big demand on an amp. Only HE speakers (high efficiency) are designed to handle flea powered amps.
