I used to enjoy VI quite a bit but the expanded score album made me realize how repetitive it is, and not very thematic at all. It gets boring after a while.

By far my favorite scores of the films are I & V.

"The Meld" track from TMP is my favorite piece of Trek film music. It absolutely brings everything together and watching the Enterprise emerge from the V'Ger vessel as Goldsmith's cue ramps up the theme gives me chills.

Geez this reminds me of how I need to get so many LLL and other label releases and usually can't afford to.

The biggest issue with all Trek films is that Paramount 100% nickel and dimed them all the way. At the very least they had a bit more leeway on the TNG films.

This thread reminded me I needed to get the Undiscovered Country 2-CD set. Thanks.

I only have the Goldsmith scores and Wrath of Khan. And yeah, I'm rocking the SACD of Nemesis.

All the soundtrack love. Hell I'll bet even people who dislike The Final Frontier will admit the score is great!

I think "The Mountain" is one of the best tracks of any Star Trek film, period. Goldsmith could elevate even the most mediocre of films with a great score!

I have the La-La-Land Records release the Star Trek: The Motion Picture score from Goldsmith, which is one of my favorite scores of all time. I also have the Intrada releases of Star Trek V & VI. The one for The Undiscovered Country soundtrack I just got a week or two ago, and it's a real wonderful experience. I also have the original CD soundtrack of Star Trek: Nemesis. I do want to get Goldsmith's work from First Contact. I re-watched the film several months back, and really highlighted his beautiful score. Insurrection, as a film, is a real bore, but Goldsmith really doesn't fail to impress. Michael Giacchino's Star Trek Beyond score is also on my wish list.

I used it to score a corporate promo video in late 89 and it helped win my boss a 'small businessman of the year' award from White House.

Not a heavy production value thing, we couldn't even edit it -- I came on at 10pm, spent the night setting up things to be shot in the morning, including physical titles, then had to shoot everything in sequence, finishing with my boss in his office around 11am. The Goldsmith mountain cue played back live as I tracked through the building and moved into the end credit of the company logo. Totally makeshift, but effective. Only thing I've ever shot on video in my whole life, was always film oriented.
