Got The Black Phone off eBay for $17

My target says their out of stock already on the black phone but says 6 copies at the location don't know what it means.

I don't know why I even bother with Target sometimes. JW: Dominion is arguably the biggest release so far this year and not a single copy was out in two Targets I visited this morning.

Not that it's any consolation, but I pre-ordered from Target and the tracking number says I'm not supposed to get it until Thursday.

The movie is so awful they were doing their part to keep you from watching that horror show again or for the first time. Should be thanking them.

Sadly, this is going to be more of the norm. I imagine most folks nowadays just buy it digitally.

My copies of JWD and The Black Phone have been sitting in NJ since Monday and I live in PA. Arrival date is supposed to be Friday.

Grabbed the last copy of 31 SteelBook edition from target.
It doesn't scan in their system, it has a title shelf tag but no price.
Online it is $9.99
In store, through dpci it comes up and says it is $7.50

If they're moving their media to being online only, like Best Buy, I guess it's possible they oversold preorders. The most likely explanation though is that they're short staffed like most places these days and restocking the media dept takes a backseat to groceries and school supplies. Even before the pandemic, Target and Walmart weren't always reliable at getting new releases on shelves the day of release. Though, it was more rare for titles like JW to not be out on time. These days you might have to hunt for a dedicated new-release or JW-only display up front or even in the toy section though.

Go to the USPS or UPS actual site to get accurate tracking, depending on which currently has it. Target's tracking page shows a by-this-date in blue I believe, with a typically inaccurate possible delivery date in grey. My preorder showed it wasn't due until next Monday, but it arrived last Tuesday. Of course, if it shipped alone, at the very least you should expect a crushed slipcover, possibly a broken case. Target's unpadded packaging is nothing short of absolutely worthless at protecting the movie, when they ship it alone.

Got JW Dominion 4k delivered yesterday from the B2G1 sale.

It had a loose disc, so I went to a local store exchanged it, and for the inconvenience they gave me a $5 gift card as well!

Yeah, that's what I did. It is showing "out for delivery" today, so it looks like Thursday it is. Not the end of the world, but it looks like if getting a new release on release day is a priority, will have to avoid ordering from Target, lol.

could have been slow employees, closest Target has a shipper/cardboard display with the different versions and maybe that is why none were on a rack where they normally would be
