I don't recall seeing character advances but that doesn't mean the were not done, I just don't remember seeing any. I will post a picture of the posters when I get a chance. Need to find them.

Toy Story 3 did have character advances, but not as many as sites reported. The first advance released was just a giant "3" on it, and then the character advances followed, seven of them total, followed by the final style which was a really nice poster. The character advances were for Buzz, Woody, T-Rex, Mr. Potato Head, Piggy, Slinky Dog, and the female cowgirl (her name is escaping me as I type this). The other images weren't posters, but sites reported them as such. I believe the rarest of the character advances were Mr. Potato Head and T-Rex.
They did 4 individual posters. (kick-ass,hit girl, red mist, big daddy) I think they did a banner as well. All of them looking away from you. I have seen pictures but never saw it in person.

I loved all the Toy Story posters. They did a great job with them. The final toy story poster also looked like the final Muppets posters. Has everyone on it. Over all I think Disney does an amzing job with their posters. A few bad ones every once in a while. Like John Carter. That thing looks so bad.

I really want to like these new Back to the Future prints from Mondo, but I don't.

But damn, I'm assuming everyone got an invite to their gallery? It isn't a select few is it?

They are decent but I think a lot of people are holding out for BTTF prints from the big name artists.

There is a private showing from 3-5, and then after that the gallery is open to the public.

Agreed... they do nothing for me in the sense that I couldn't possibly commit that much wall space to what I think is really only 1 good movie. I'd really like to know who the artist is, "Phantom City Creative" means nothing to me.

Edit: Phantom City Creative means a little more to me now that I've checked out http://phantomcitycreative.com but I'd still rather see Mondo credit the actual artist who did the work rather than a company, I didn't catch that they had done the Gremlin's 2 work for Mondo in the past.

Individually the posters look bland, but all three together looks a lot better. Still not my thing though.

Hmm personally I love the 3 split posters look, and I'd been looking into BTTF posters lately. I'm gonna give it the old college try tomorrow but I hold out little hope. Hopefully the general attitude here carries over and it's not too hard to grab these.

It isn't a select few i'm sorry i should have been more specific about that in my last post. The original invites were sent out in the mail to people like Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News so i'm not sure if maybe they are getting an early preview but yes it's open to the public and free. I was really excited when i first saw the email about BTTF and thought that they would give Stout a crack at the first poster but hopefully soon since he did that McFly handbill which seemed to tease a future BTTF poster from him. I'm not sure if they have some sort of likeness rights issue using the Michael J. Fox image or not though because i saw in an interview Justin had said they had trouble with that issue on Ghostbusters and why that series of posters has been delayed so long.

Finally got around to watching this movie on the weekend and really enjoyed it. I really like this poster too, much less pink than the other prints I've seen, it looks nice, post some pics if you frame it.

Got some new stuff this week. Still waiting on a couple more to come in (from UK/Canada) & hope they get here safely.

Price was right on the variant:

Been looking for Carrie and she fell in my lap. Couldn't resist. The inks on this are thick and glossy:

Yeah the Toy Story 3 posters were quite vibrant and nice looking, especially that final style. The Kick-Ass banner image is below, I have them new in the box, they are quite large, I think about 10-12 feet long, but haven't measured one. They are done on thick vinyl to withstand abuse too.

I am quite sure it went out to everyone, just to give all a heads up of what they are doing next by opening a gallery. I imagine the private reception will be a VIP thing, who knows, maybe they will have some of the artists there, but just because the initials are showing up on the invite doesn't mean a print will be released by a specific artist. I guess more information will be released soon.

Regarding the BTTF series, I don't mind this first print, I can only imagine what is coming down the pipeline, but I actually prefer the variant over the standards for this first release. I am looking forward to meeting Christopher Lloyd at the end of this month since he will be here in Seattle, I have been the biggest Rev. Jim Ignatauski fan since his first episode in season one of Taxi.
