Cinderella Blu-ray Review

Cinderella Trilogy Blu-ray

As posted in the Wish List section, the Cinderella Diamond edition trailer was included on the Lion King Blu-Ray in France, promoted it for a 2012 release! Like the LatT trailer, I think Disney did a rather good job with it!

This is, by far, one of my all-time favorites of the Disney classics. Even after growing up with it on VHS as a kid, I still love the story. The King, the Duke, the mice...they all make me laugh.

Anyone know where I can see a list of "projected release dates" for BD. I'm wondering when Peter Pan is expected to receive BD treatment. Thanks in advance.

They haven't been announced, but peter pan came out on dvd a while back, so may be a while for that one.

Peter Pan was bumped up on the schedule to promote the Tinker Bell movie, but it was only added to the Platinum roster later--
Chronologically, 101 Dalmatians, Jungle Book and Little Mermaid were LAST on the original undisked/unamended Platinum list, so there's still Peter and Aladdin to place first.

I'm looking forward to Lady and the Tramp, not so much Cinderella. As I've aged, I sort of grew out of it. I figured Aladdin would have been next fall. I'm looking forward to the Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad getting a release someday. Get on that, Disney!

101 dalmations is one of the last ones if i remember and it follows platinum's schedule. Peter pan should release with The Little Mermaid after cinderella if i'm right.

Although no dates are listed in the original Disney Press release. They've been released in roughly the same order.

So, it would seem a reasonable guess to say The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan will arrive in 2013, while The Jungle Book and 101 Dalmations will arrive in 2014, leaving only Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio to have Diamond Editions to replace the current releases.

Most likely yes. With them doing that on BatB, TLK most recently and now Lady and the Tramp I don't see them making a new layout.

Especially considering the last two were released in non-diamond blu. Only reafirms the order or release.

Hope they put out these others too in that window:

Robin Hood
Mary Poppins
AristoCats

I've got a three year old that's going to need some new material...

Greece is getting cinderella in September, France and Germany in October. It depends on distribution and marketing choices.

101 Dalmatians and Pinocchio are not part of the Diamond line though. And aristocats is getting released in France and in Greece in September, Germany should get it sometime in summer.

Actually they're not, but since they're next on the list before Mermaid and Jungle Book (with Aladdin in there somewhere), you can expect them around that timeframe.

Spring 2012 - Lady and the Tramp
Fall 2012 - Cinderella
Spring 2013 - Peter Pan
Fall 2013 - The Little Mermaid
2014 - The Jungle Book/ Sleeping Beauty

101 Dalmatians will be released in fall 2012 and is not part of the Diamond Edition line anymore. Aladdin and Pinocchio aren't either.
