I freaking LOVED this movie. Great comedy, great action, mostly avoids looking like a CG cartoon despite the insanity happening. Just stellar stuff. Disc looks stunning.

Knocked a star off on Letterboxd because it drags a bit at the end through multiple climaxes, but other than that this is as good a modern movie as I've seen really.

I blind bought this movie last year and my expectations were higher than they should have been. I the theatrical cut was okay and a bit long. The dialogue between Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling when they are working in Australia is awesome.

Last night I watched the directors cut and enjoyed it more. I could not tell you what was different initially but i appreciated this film and it helped my expectations were not the same. I do think this is a great action movie now and am glad I bought it.

i looked up the differences and the opening valet scene instead of AC/DC's Thunderstruck they use Engelbert Humperdnick's A Man Without Love. Both songs are great and give me a different emotioanal response. AC/DC is a F* it i am done with this crap vibe and Engelbert gives a man would hates his job emotion. Also i noticed the editing is different, the call with Gale is intermixed with the valet scene in the theatrical but after the valet scene in the extended cut. I think the extended cut works better for that.

My only complaint on the extended cut is the lightrail and warehouse action scene was added but obviously sped up and feels out of place. I prefer the theatrical cut without that sped up action scene.

I cannot tell you how much more the my appreciation of this film is from the added scenes of the extended cut versus my expectations but it did not help to see all the action scenes in the trailer.
