After seeing those stills...well, I still don't want to see the movie. And I still haven't seen anything that looks remotely like the Fantastic Four.

You mean you aren't shaking in anticipation after getting two stills of Miles Teller standing around? They're still about four months out from release, fine, but when you release official stills -- why go with these things we've already seen? It's Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, and Kate Mara wearing their bland, boring "costumes that aren't costumes."

They are showing us the exact same things they did when the last stills came out.

Here's my post from when the last stills came out, with the pictures included:

These are the same boring stills from last time, but from different angles and different shot sizes.

Why not give us a still of the Thing? Or "Dr. Doom"? I can't get excited over boring Miles Teller looking boring in his boring, nondescript jumpsuit.

Or that many special effects are still incomplete.

For what we know The Thing effects may not be complete enough yet, they didn't show his face in the teaser and I feel that's the main reason for that, even with mocap face animation might require some work.
Plus, it's possible that Doom may be a spoiler in some way.

Yeah, maybe. That's fair. But there's really no excuse to put out some official stills and have them be almost exactly the same ones they put out already.

I don't know how they expect anyone to get excited when they just keep showing us the same three actors in these very boring jumpsuits.

Thanks for the boring stills, Fox. Two pictures of Miles Teller?! Boy, that sure does get me hyped!

FANTASTIC FOUR Sequel Backs Down From STAR WARS EPISODE VIII With New Release Date

Quote:
The ramifications of Disney's surprising Star Wars Episode VIII release date announcement are already being felt, and while the Batman centric The LEGO Movie spinoff has yet to back down, the Fantastic Four 2 has been delayed.

Following the big Star Wars Episode VIII and Rogue One announcement made earlier today 20th Century Fox has announced that Fantastic Four will now be released a week later than expected on June 9th, 2017 rather than the previously announced June 2nd, 2017. You might not think that a week would make all that much of a difference, but this moves the sequel a whole seven days away from Rian Johnson's entry into the Star Wars franchise,. Ultimately, it's just a smart move to at least give Fantastic Four 2 a fighting chance to hit #1 at the box office.

Wait wait, they've already decided to make a sequel to this??! I mean...I'm not totally surprised by that of course but that's a brave move going on what we have so far.

Its a stupid move, based on their assumption the film will succeed when most fans will be fleeing like crazy. This movie has "epic fail" written all over it, on par with something like "Battlefield Earth".

How will they make a sequel when this will most likely bomb?

I doubt this film will bomb. Underperform, maybe, but outright bomb, no. I figure it will pull in $500 million at least. It'd need to be a genuinely awful film to bomb. And not just a poor adaption of the F4 comics. Just because something is different from the source material doesn't mean it's a bad film. So unless it's a genuinely bad film or undermarketed in the month or two before release it should do all right at least.

It's now uncommon to have release dates in hold before pre-production has began on a film to ensure you have the ideal date for your film release. Nothing stupid to it, there's no loss to it, if the first film flops, they just pull plans for the sequel.

"This movie will be the next Battlefield Earth!!" is such a lazy and overused cliche that it removes the credibility of the person who uses it.

Most recently said about an actual space opera, Jupiter Ascending. That movie bombed and wasn't very good but it was still much better than Battlefield Earth and I doubt it will go down in the annals of cinema history the way Scientology: The Movie already has.

Two photos of Miles Teller, all black costumes, and Kate Mara looking up are all signs that this movie will be an epic failure and will be the next Catwoman, Battlefield Earth, Waterworld and Howard the Duck combined. Just look at that expression on Kate Mara's face - according to film success statistics, her expression is the same kind of expression found on character's faces in epic film failures. Fans should boycott this film or burn in hell. When opening night comes, I shall be face palming this movie so bad online and also I will use many overused Gifs to show how awful this movie may be.

There's literally nothing else in those pictures to react to in such a "OMG THIS LOOKS TERRIBLE" way than the costumes. All that is in those pics is faces and costumes.

Sad thing is, this will likely go over the heads of many of the negative posters here.

It's undermarketed as we speak. 8 stills of nothing but bland boring character glamour shots, word of mouth saying the special effects are still not ready and a story that is well beyond the source material. Then the director basically says in a press release that everything we know about F4 is wrong in his eyes. He may have been joking about Sue and her "slutty secretary" past but since 1974 or so Sue has been moving away from that. We've had 35 years of strong character development that has actually made Sue, not Reed the core of the group. She's the strong mother of the four not just because she is one, but because it's her nurturing that holds the F4 together. Fans know this and when they hear something negative about her from the film's own director. That's never good news. Without fan support this film can't really go anywhere, unless Fox gives them something to root for and so far they really havent.

99% of the movie going public don't care at all about any of this shit.
