I think his point was more that general audiences don't care at all about faithfulness to the comic.

And yeah, I would guess they both want to be different from the previous movies and also match X-Men more in tone, so they have a consistent brand like we talked about in the other brand.

What's really confusing is that I've been going to supermarkets my whole life and I have not see one superhero in there.

You expect the film to suck, you've decided you're not going to see it, and yet you keep posting the thread?

His repetitive negative posts have finally convinced me and 99 percent of all the other forum members in here to skip the movie. The only one left who wants to watch this Battlefied Earth sequel is you, Foggy. You should do the right thing by conforming to boycott this film as well. You are either with us or against us.

things explode, people shoot guns, the subwoofers go boom, the eye candy bends in unrealistic ways, lens flare everywhere, big monsters and robots are rendered in lifelike detail

Do they belong on Criterion? Of course not. Are they fun to watch? Hell yeah. Leave that art school nonsense for another day.

Steven Spielberg vs Alfred Hitchcock. Epic Rap Battles of History. - YouTube
ummmmmmmm, just because most of us realize that Michael Bay is a bottom bin Ewe Bolls shlop with a bigger budget doesn't mean we don't enjoy guilty pleasure movies. there just comes a point where the stupidity gets SOOOO high that you can't stand it anymore. thus Transformers

Compared to Transformers, most other movies might as well be art films released by Criterion.

Deservingly so - Both The Rock and Armegeddon are action masterpieces.

Exactly. The vast majority of the total potential audience has never read the comics, so they really aren't going to care about fidelity with the source material. It's not like say, 50% of moviegoers are avid FF readers: they don't care.

And honestly, since Marvel has nothing to do with the film, neither do I. It doesn't "count," so I don't get worked up over it.

They tend to either add to something they have seen, or post once and have their peace. Pessimism doesn't add to pessimism, it simply subtract optimism, you're actively against people having a good time with this film. Don't take away from others enjoyment, share your piece and move on.

And that goes to everyone, share what you feel about new material, but don't dissuade people who like what they see. It's uncool, and ultimately no one wins.

I happen to want an adaptation done right for once, because if this film becomes a hit, therefore giving Fox a legitimate claim to keep making more of the Frightful Four as is. That keeps the franchise away from Marvel and I want not only qa really great Fantastic Four movie that is faithful to the source material but I also want my Kree/Skrull war dammit! Fox by keeping hold of the FF keeps the Skrulls too.

I love a ton of action movies just for the action. I even like some bad movies for cheesy fun factor. Transformers is terrible on all levels. It's not just bad compared to art films, it's bad compared to dumb action films.

No.

The Rock is a good action movie. Armageddon is just a bad movie in general.
