Just as a head's up it appears that version may have had all the "head butting" cut. It messes up the soundtrack and the commentary since Warner didn't do any extra editing on it.

Read that in the Region A Hot Deals thread, so take it as you will.

The Matrix HD DVDs are uncut in the UK, so the BDs will be as well.

Play.com is now showing £39.99, but amazon still have it for £14.99. Will be interesting to see if they actually honour that price.

Yes Play.com Now Have It At £39.99 But I Just Checked My Pre Orders And It Is Still Showing £14.99 Never Had Any Problems With Play.com Yet So Here's Hoping They Honour The Price I Pre Ordered It At.

Looks like Amazon.UK is only getting the three movies (no Animatrix or extras) same thing happened with the HDDVD release, I think.

The talk about encoding is about as silly as can be. Some of the best Blu-Rays I've seen only take up about 30 - 35 gigs of disk space (including a full 8 gig DVD's worth of extras)
For that matter, the incredible looking TMNT takes up about 15 gig

But, more to the point, I own the Matrix movies and they do look excellent (especially the first one) probably my most watched disks.

You can't compare TMNT to The Matrix. Live action stuff is more difficult to encode than a straight digital source to digital disc conversion.

That being said, I agree people are being a little silly about the bitrate. Wow! You can see minor digital artifacts when you look at a single still frame! So what? It's not offensive in motion. The Matrix looks quite stunning.
