A gigantic Allman Brothers Band marathon. I have always associated southern rock with summer parties, out in a pasture, keg of beer, Frisbee being tossed, BBQ and loud rock, from bands like ABB. Gregg had a liver transplant and last I heard was doing great. Info on him can be seen here: http://www.allmanbrothersband.com/

"Everytime I travel south I eat a peach for peace" - Gregg Allman

I used to see Gregg all the time down in Sarasota in the 80s in the clubs. Here we are, dressed up with the peg leg pants, thin tie or Miami Vice suits and in walks Gregg with his little group dressed like its 1972 with bell bottoms and a fringe jacket. lol. There was a comedy club/dance club in Bradenton called the Moonraker and he would hang out there as well as a steak place called the Pewter Mug. The Pewter Mug had a stage and you would go in for dinner and get a free Allman Brothers concert! Good times, I loved the 80s, lol.

If you didn't post your location this would give it away. Got to love the south.

Kinda funny about ABB though, they play lots of venues, during their whole career, up north. That includes their yearly NY concerts at the Beacon and at Ludlow Garage in Cinci (1970). I was looking at their website. A whole year's worth of concert DVDs goes for over $800!

One of my favorite movie soundtracks. Waiting on a BD release of the extended version here in the states.

Chris, it's not Frank Constanza the comedian, it's Claudio Arrau, a famous pianist.

* Not even a close resemblance.

Steely Dan "Midnite Cruiser" one of only 4 Steely songs that did not feature Donald Fagen on vocals! The late drummer Jim Hodder sings this one, and he did an incredible job IMO!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD_DyoB4Cjs
