Maybe it's just me but I feel like standard covers have been better than exclusives for a couple years now. I used to buy steelbooks and such once in a while just for better cover art (Mad Max Fury Road, Batman v Superman, etc.) but lately I'm just fine getting the normal packaging because exclusive covers tend to suck.

For those of you interested in the Aquaman 4K Target Exclusive, it's included today in the "Buy 3 get 1 free" movie promotion at Target.
I preordered it along with Bad Times at the El Royale and Hell Fest, came to $62.56 (I have a Target Red Card so I get free shipping) The retail for the Aquaman exclusive is $36.99 so this shaved off a nice chuck of change! |

I will say that I really like the comic book artwork of the steelbook at Best Buy, looks like I am in the minority on that though. |

Where video quality is barely on par with a 1080p blu ray, over sharpened, compression artifacts galore, and the compressed audio is meh. HDR can be decent though.

You clearly haven't seen a single 4K HDR / DV title on iTunes.

Warner charges $20 for digital versions, so you're talking a $10 difference. That $10 is worth it to many like myself for better quality and true ownership, but to others it won't be. For most Joe Mainstreams it won't be, but there should be enough who care to keep discs alive as a niche format, unless studios want to kill them. |

Also for me, the audio is very important and iTunes audio doesn't have the articulation, detail, and intensity of a lossless track. I don't think it's unwatchable but for me, it's very easy to justify the price difference. The price difference is also only really relevant for new releases anyway. I often find physical to be cheaper if you wait a bit for sales, multi-buy deals, second hand etc... |

I never said anything about pirated files or DVDs I've no idea why you bring that up. My comments about justifying the extra expense when it comes to physical media vs digital for someone who wishes to produce the highest fidelity film watching experience possible. The poster who said he couldn't justify the price difference seemed to imply he wasn't losing anything when choosing the cheaper option which is just plain wrong. |

Digital copies aren’t as bad as you’re making them out to be. For the average person, it’ll be just fine, and they probably won’t notice any difference. |
