Ghostface doesn’t only have to come after her anyone, it’s a mask/identity that can used by any crazy person to go after any number of people for any number of reasons. I'm not angry, though I admit it does look that way. I will be against any production company/studio/creator that actively shits on their audience and labels them as bigots etc.

It's happening now with Kenobi and it's a disgrace. People hate the show because it's shit, the people that don't like Scream 5 don't like it because it's shit (in their opinion) and labelling them as some kind of scumbag is low and I hate that. It's a cop out. If you create content some people are going to dislike it. Accept it! They aren't "toxic" just because they don't like the thing you did! There's a very recent trend in Hollywood where people criticizing X,Y, Z movie/show are disregarded as some kind of ist or phobe for not liking something and that, THAT'S TOXIC as ****! I'm sick of it. That's all.

Also, we know this takes place with the four survivors of the last film, and wherever they go. We know no honest Screenwriter is ggonna have them stalking Syd's family, and Syd isn't gonna leave her babies to follow them around, so her being a major player in these films anymore is just not happening.

Ghostface killing off a group of friends with the twist of who the killer is. Where in that sentence does it say you need Neve in that basic plot?

Agreed. I love her too, but the series just needs to let Syd be. She has babies now, so why put herself in harm. We shall see how they bring Gail back in the next one, cause while I could see the media sending her there again cause of her past, she became totally worthless in the third act...again.

The fan saw Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.

I'm not 100% behind the idea of Neve leaving in this way doing the franchise a favour, mostly because I assume this next instalment was written specifically with her in mind.

I agree that Sidney felt shoe-horned into the last one and I’d rather her not be involved in this teeny-bopper continuation of the franchise anyway, but she still managed to steal the show. Sidney and Gale were the best part of the climax. I couldn’t have cared less about the other girl being coaxed by CGI Billy to kill her boyfriend, whereas I was actually engaged by seeing Sidney own the **** out of the teens and she and Gale working together to torch the one killer.

So there was nothing “tired” about that.

And what does Gale add to this by being shoe-horned into this one? Especially on her own. Having just Gale in this and interacting with the teeny-boppers is going to be the saddest shit.

Neve Campbell was absolutely right for turning this down if the money wasn’t right, especially if the speculation is true that she was meant to have a bigger role. She was the main reason the last one was successful as the marketing revolved all around her. This franchise revival is going to fizzle out even faster now.

And yes, as ridiculous as it would be to have Sidney involved in another series of Ghostface killings (like it already was last time), it’s still ridiculous that there’s going to be a 6th murder spree stemming back to the original film. Even more so now that these killings have been passed on to a new generation to deal with as if Scream is the kind of story that lends itself as a generational tale. It isn’t.

I didn’t want Sidney involved in this in the first place since Scream 4 already pushed the story as far as it should go with the meta-reboot/remake aspect, and it served as a great epilogue as well as being the best sequel (ya, that’s right). But I saw Scream 5 just because she was in it, and now I’m relieved I have no reason to care since I only cared about her and this franchise has run its course already. We’re at the point where toxic Stab fans are killing people to keep the franchise within the franchise going. Scream wasn’t built to last this long.

Though I might check this out at some point out of curiosity to see what a Scream movie without Sidney is like.

If it’s set in New York they could stunt cast the rest of the cast of FRIENDS to be killed off one by one. Who needs Neve Campbell when you’ve got Jennifer Aniston being murdered!

If my wife survived 5 murder sprees done by people in Ghostface costumes and there was a 6th spree happening I would beg her, for our kids, to not join them. Remind her of all the loss, that this psycho is not the same person just wearing the same mask, so it’s not a case of avenging anyones deaths.

So, in other words, very easy to logically keep her out of this story but still alive.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Gale gets killed.

I also hope Ghostface punches someone’s head off.

They should bring back Tori Spelling and Luke Wilson. Then they be the killers.
