I am still trying to figure out your term of "workprint". You mean it was a workprint we have been watching for some 20 years? It was a "workprint" that grossed 310 Million Dollars in 77/78? Really, a workprint? If thats the case and he makes more changes is it not a workprint cut we are currently seeing as well? Following your definition those sad and sorry films you actually like called the PT are workprints as well because you just know that he is not done tinkering.

George has been known to change his mind has he not? Just go to youtube and look at different interviews with him through the years on the same subjects. He has either lied, changed his mind on almost every topic regarding the films.

Also throwing in a new cgi Yoda would negate Frank Oz's puppet work......Hey I got a better idea why not just remake all six films with the latest and greatest technology? They we might not have any of Beasts so called "workprints" to deal with.

Of course those PT films are simply workprints also. They'll always be in a constant state of change.

The PT DVDs that are out now for E1, E2, and E3 arn't the exact same films that were in theaters.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace DVD Release
* Sebulba's subtitles during his enraged talk with Anakin originally read, "You won't walk away from this one, Skywalker... you slave scum!". For the DVD, "Skywalker" was removed from the subtitle, since Sebulba does not actually say Anakin's last name in the scene.
* Watto's celebratory cry of "Sebulba!" is removed.
* The podracing sequence is extended. Such enhancements include a scene with Anakin facing off with Gasgano, Anakin losing one of his engines, only to recover it, and more.
* The air taxi sequence is reincorporated.
* Orn Free Taa's human aides are replaced by Twi'leks.

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones DVD Release
* Several speeders were removed from a shot during the Bounty Hunter pursuit scene.
* New dialogue added to the scene where Anakin confesses to the Tusken slaughter.
* After Padmé falls out of the gunship on Geonosis, a clone trooper asks if she is all right. Her alert response of "Yes" has been changed to a more realistically groggy "Uh-huh."
* Anakin's mechanical hand now holds Padmé's hand during the closing wedding sequence (this was originally included in the DLP theatrical release of the film, but not in the 35 mm film version).
* During their duel on Kamino, a shot of Jango Fett headbutting Obi-Wan is removed from the UK version of the DVD.
* Jedi Coleman Trebor confronts Count Dooku on the lookout balcony during the battle of Geonosis. Trebor is instantly shot dead by Jango Fett. The following shot shows Jango twirling his blaster pistol before slotting it back into his holster. In the theatrical release, this was a solo shot of Jango, but the widescreen version of the DVD has Count Dooku in the foreground, smiling as Jango twirls his pistol.
* Moments before Mace Windu decapitates Jango Fett, sparks and a slight puff of smoke from Jango's jetpack can be seen, signifying that his jetpack malfunctioned.

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith DVD Release
* Despite Lucasfilm's official statement that there were absolutely no changes made to the theatrical version of the film, the November 1, 2005 DVD release of Revenge of the Sith had one slight change from the theatrical cut. In the scene where a shot transitions to Darth Vader crawling up the lava bank, the original theatrical release used a wipe effect from the shot of Obi-Wan and C-3PO in the cockpit of Padmé's ship leaving Mustafar to Vader's mechanical hand grasping at the volcanic soil, whereas the DVD instead uses a straight cut from the Padmé's ship shot to that of Vader.

The list is a bit off, but it's pretty close to all of the various changes for the DVD releases of the Prequels. As the theatrical version of AotC did indeed show that Jango's backpack was damaged. It just wasn't quite as obvious to most people, so the evidence of it's damage was made more obvious for the DVD release.

And thank goodness. The puppet looked bad, even if it based off a mold from the original.
I agree, the puppet in Episode I looked terrible...

The puppet in Episodes V and VI looked pretty good though.

I'm interested to see what changes he'll make this time around for the blu-ray release.

Please fix the light sabers in the OT

Specifically the color inconsistency in Luke's saber early on in ANH and where Vader and Luke's sabers GO THROUGH EACH OTHER in Jedi.

Just goes to show you what a terrible director he is.....good stuff. Can't ever seem to get his own films right. The closest he came was in 77,80 and 83. Good thing he let someone else direct the later two.

That list up there is missing the shortening of "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" in Episode III.

Of course a bigger problem was the writing for that scene, but I guess cutting a few seconds off that no was also needed.

Just in case anyone who doesn't know the differences of the originals vs 1997 vs 2004 versions is interested in learning:

Its not in English....but just use Google Chrome and click the Translate button.

Edit: It isn't every little thing, but you get the idea.

I kinda love that scene. Vader's violent destruction of the room and his bereaved cry.

It's the last moment of humanity for Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader for around 20+ years.

I loved it.

Specifically for the reason he did it.

He did all this to save her....and he ended up killing her (well that's what he was told) because of what he became.

Thats why its made fun of all over the net.....Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! Why do you think the finale only grossed 380 million dollars? Because it was terrible! This was supposed to be the one everyone was waiting on with baited breath....Anakin vs Obi Wan, The Twins, the complete turn to the dark side and it could not even cross the 400 million mark? So what happended at the box office? Was it because the second one was so terrible that it could hardly limp over the 300 million mark?

Yep. It's a nice tragic moment for Anakin. His own actions led to the future he foresaw.

If he would have listened to Yoda and Obi-Wan about letting go it wouldn't have happened.

Yoda: Premonitions, premonitions. These visions you have...
Anakin Skywalker: They are of pain, suffering. Death.
Yoda: Yourself you speak of, or someone you know?
Anakin Skywalker: Someone.
Yoda: Close to you?
Anakin Skywalker: Yes.
Yoda: Careful you must be when sensing the future Anakin. The fear of loss is a path to the dark side.
Anakin Skywalker: I won't let these visions come true, Master Yoda.
Yoda: Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed that is.
Anakin Skywalker: What must I do, Master Yoda?
Yoda: Train yourself to let go... of everything you fear to lose.

And he still did technically kill her. Even if he didn't kill her with his own hand.

Since it's his actions and turn to the Dark Side and fall that led to her giving up on living.

Anyone see the similarities to Yoda/Buddha?
That little bit is almost Buddhist to the "T"

I wonder if there's a chance Lucas will go back and redub the line "she's lost the will to live" with "he crushed her throat and now she's about to die"

I love Revenge of the Sith, but that part (and almost any part where Portman speaks in the movie also) is terrible

Well, Lucas did mine Buddhism and such when he created the concept of The Force.

We also see why Yoda and Obi-Wan was so concerned when Luke chose to confront Vader in Empire Strikes Back thanks to Anakin's own choices leading him down the path that saw the future he foresaw to come to fruition.

I know the shot you're talking about. Oddly enough it doesn't look nearly as bad on my TV.

I think around the time it came out I calibrated mine so that it didn't look horrid.

But yeah, it really does need to be tweaked for the BLU. Along with a few other shots.

I forget, they fixed the shot of Vader's white lightsaber in A New Hope, right?

Do you mean when he's fighting Obi-Wan or when Luke is using Vader's old saber?

Vs Obi-wan on this page

http://www.zonadvd.com/modules.php?n...tid=427&page=7

Luke using the old one on this page:

http://www.zonadvd.com/modules.php?n...tid=427&page=6

Red against Kenobi, but when Luke uses his old one its white still (on the Falcon) and then green in the 2004
