Default audio spec if star wars is ever released?

Lucas has always been one for the best audio for his franchise movies. So I put the question out there should he go with DOLBY TRUE HD or DTS MASTER AUDIO ?????? no matter what. You know he is going to remaster this movie in one of these. Just looking for opinions on what you think he should go with.

7.1 DTS HD MA is what I think, with John Williams' approval of course.

He should get his finger out of his butt and let the fans have the 3 original Star Wars and the 3 original Indiana Jones movies on Blu-ray. NOW!!!

LucasFilm uses whatever codec the studio supports on home video releases. Its just as easy for THX to create a cerfication for DTS-HD Master Audio just as it is for Dolby TrueHD.

Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull was Dolby TrueHD because that is what Paramount supported. Could it have been DTS-HD Master Audio? Sure, but Paramount would have still include the Dolby TrueHD track just as they did for Top Gun and Shine A Lght. The only exception was the Criterion co-op release The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

This is especially true since American Graffiti has yet to be announced by Universal and they support DTS-HD MA. Willow has also not been announced and again its Fox who supports DTS-HD MA.

I miss the days of LPCM and would have hoped for this, but DTS-HDMA would be my bet.

Ok, they may never be released because Blu-ray Disc will be dead by that time right? Its what all the whiners are going to say.

Then again, DVD was still considered to be a niche product in 2000 and yet is still going strong after 10 years. Introduced in 1997 with the Indy Trilogy on DVD in 2003 and Star Wars Origiinal Trilogy in 2004.

So lets see do we want hi-defintion Blu-rays made from HD masters from over five years ago? Sure Lowry Digital did a damn fiine job on all six movies but they surely could be better. Even The Wizard of Oz got a new restoration to have it really shine on Blu-ray and even DVD.

I think the larger question is, why's it matter? It'll be lossless no matter what and you can bet it'll be in 7.1 sound so what difference does the codec make?

Should use DTS but since he has been in bed with Dolby since the EX days he will probably use DOLBY TRUE HD.

I care more about the video, but since they need to remaster it, they would probably remaster the new cuts. >
Even if they decided to "remaster" the old cuts, they would add extra Jar-Jars and everything.

All I want is to have the original cuts. As for audio, have one track the way it was in theaters(Dolby Digital TrueHD Mono track), and then a remastered DTSHD-MA 7.1.

I would prefer they gave more attention on PQ but if there are movie that should receive the royal treatment on sound it would be Star Wars, let's hope they give them the work's.

Highest bit rate would be LPCM; but since it's Fox it will be DTS-HD MA, possibly 6.1 unless it's remastered to 7.1.
