I didnt find maneater easy at all he was one of the toughest bosses for me until i got the spell Firestorm. Do you have firestorm?

Yea maneater was always a tough boss for me. Actually a lot of the bosses are tough your first playthrough till you figure out how to kill them. Flamelurker and maneater seem to be the toughest though.

Yep same flamelurker and maneater were toughest for me. yeah like you say its just figuring out a stratergy to kill the bosses. it would be a shame for GAWD to trade the game in so soon and miss how rewarding the game can actually be

I can respect GAWD's opinion, as getting to Maneater is a pretty good portion of the game. If he ultimately feels it's too frustrating, that's fine.

When I was getting pummeled by a specific boss or area, I would go farm stones( you need them anyway) and souls and level up a few levels, then coming back to Maneater was a breeze.

Yea I would give the game another shot once you " Wooosaaahhh". It's a very fun game and one of the best to come out this past year.

Yeah he has give it a good go i suppose, if he doesnt like it then thats fair enough. Demons souls does take a hell of a lot of patience and i can think of plenty of times i felt like trading it in...im so glad i didnt do anything rash in frustration though.
same as you said if i was getting pummeled i would go elsewhere. i got stuck on maneater the first playthrough realized i needed to obtain firestorm and level up, so i did, then i went back and kicked his ass! and his b***h ass friend!

Geez, I had a real tough time yesterday, coming across all kinds of black phantoms throughout. Had one guy coming at me, but luckily there was a blue phantom right where I wanted him. He was a real badass, but too bad he was killed by one of those fat guys who shoot fire.

When you're on your third play through and you're magic does nothing, your weapons do nothing and your defense is crap...it's time to get rid of it. I'm no longer finding it rewarding but downright stressful. Finished man eater, finished the 3rd world now trying to kill Lord Rydell BP. One hit kill for him...I'm at lvl 177 and it's a one hit kill for him? Seriously? There's no fun in that. You're left with resorting to poison cloud and arrows since you really can't make it a mano a mano fight. Because of his magic defense Firestorm, Homing Arrow and freaking everything else magic do nothing...get close to him and he "magically" back stabs you from 20 ft away.

I'm confused. You were attacked by an invading black phantom? If so, I thought enemies throughout the level do not attack the invading BP, and that he can use that to his advantage as a counter to having a blue phantom around?

Do enemies attack invading black phantoms?

Oops, reading over it again I take it as the blue phantom was a badass and killed by the fat minister, not the invading BP

Ah sorry GAWD i didnt realise you were on your third playthrough i thought you were on your first.
By my third playthrough i could pretty much storm through the game quite easily my magic was so strong i didnt have much use for heavy armor or melee weapons i mainly used ranged attacks and magic.
What kind of character have built up?

BP Rydell lol, I just shot him with arrows till he died, it took a little bit, but I got the staff.

Pretty much have every spell in the game. Running around with a North Reglia and the best armor that leaves me under 50% of my burden.

Tried Ugicanta, spears, and everything else.

Soul arrow at it's strongest with erings and bonuses does about 300+ damage. Homing Arrow 800+

Finally beat BP Rydell only because he got stuck in a wall so I soulsucked him. Got his pole...couldn't wait to equip it. Ran up to my first enemy...it did 32 damage...killed me in one touch but 32 damage in my hands. That's what sucks. There was no reward in getting that weapon.
