19.99 at BB with Target price match. Customer service didn't even call them, they just did an immediate override based on my word.

BB sticker was stuck on the sleeve pretty well, but lighter fluid and a paper towel quickly took care of that.

Saw a bunch of people just grabbing the movie and heading towards checkout. Wanted to tell them about price matching, but didn't want to cause a problem. Oh well, suckers

My only issue I have with this is that it took like 25 seconds to load. I was clinching until the menu screen poped-up.

Will the collector's edition have both aspect ratios?

I know Cameron has expressed that he preferred the 1.78 format that was used for IMAX.
Yes you do need to read the threads more often. The 2.40 AR is actually cropped from the 1.78 AR, so your better off with this ratio. I don't think the November release will have the 2.40 AR included, but who knows. If you don't already know, the November release will have 4 discs, with plenty of special features. Enjoy your copy of Avatar.

Has anyone tried the Avatar Interactive Desktop? I'm getting an error on installation stating that it requires a version of Adobe AIR which is no longer supported.

A whole lotta hype. I've never gave a rat's ass about a Cameron film, and likely never will. That's why we have choices in this great country.

Default How Satisfied Are You With Your Avatar Blu-ray?

I bought my copy today and will see it tonight. But for the meantime I wanted to create a poll and see how many of you are satisifed with your new Avatar Blu-Ray in terms of Picture, Audio Quality and Extras.

Mine was delivered bright and early this morning. Thank you Amazon Prime!! $19.99 flat. No tax and free shipping. Too bad I have to wait until tomorrow night to see it. Damn work hours.

Glad to hear so many people are saying the PQ and AQ are excellent.

Anyone know if this is cheaper than $26.99 anywhere in Canada? The $26.99 is a "3-day price" from BB/FS so I would assume its going up to $29.99 after that...I'm not anal about the price but If I can save a few $$ by going down the street to Wal-Mart it's worth it.

Went in one of the local Walmarts at lunch and they had the Blu for $24.96 + tax. Getting mine from Amazon today @ $19.99 FTW!

I got mine today after work at Best Buy, at 10:35 am. Price matched target for 19.99, also i didn't have any idea about the poster, but when i got up to the counter she said here is a poster for buying the movie, they had about 2 left and started with i think like 8 or 9.
Picture of the poster and a couple screen shots i took with my cell phone.

Here is the poster

That poster looks like 27x40 and not the usual crappy 24x36 you see at Walmart. Pretty cool they gave those out. The Avatar theatrical posters don't last long on ebay and they end up selling for over $40.

ECO CASE!

Perhaps the Canadian version got them but the U.S. version didn't, or maybe some eco cases were used but not for every release?

Pictures soon.

Just finished watching Avatar. Started it last night. I'd have to say that it looks very amazing. My one minor complaint is that the DTS-HD track isn't as good as I would have imagined it being. The booms and the pops when the "sky-people" open fire on "home-tree" didn't sound exactly as boomy as I remembered it in the theater. I would give the audio a rating of 4.5, I really feel that it could be better.

The video however is another story. I honestly prefer this movie in 2D. I noticed so many different things that almost went unnoticeable in 3D. The color and clarity are quite phenomenal. The 1.78:1 aspect ratio really gives the picture a nice pop without the black bars. This should look especially good if you have a borderless TV. Thus, I give the video a rating of 5.0.

Eco cases are hit and miss, I have a lot of them that I will replace once Viva Elite cases start being sold at B & Ms.

I just got mine today (Amazon), and like yourself, it's a blind buy for me.
