Yeah the Ansin one is quite nice too, it doesn't seem like the prints are selling out really fast, I mean based on what I have heard and read there are steady lines but it seems many people who a print are able to get one if they are just patient in line. I am sure Dontacos can comment more on this since he is actually there. My guess is they have some really big ones releasing on Saturday, possibly that Struzan Dark Tower one.

From my experience today obtaining a print at the con is not impossible. I noticed the mondo tweet 20mins after they started selling and I was still able to get them. Only the true die hards know and rush over. But it doesn't start forming a crowd until other people see a long line.. People get curious of the line and just get in it. They figure it's something good.. So they stay in line. Both times. Plus the booth is like in a corner where nothing big is happening. It mostly just indie artists and some Japanese booths. All the mainstream stuff is on the other side of the exhibit hall. If you get there at least 20-25 mins after the tweet your likely getting one. The wait is kind of long though seeing there only 2 people taking payment. One for card another for cash. Took me about an hour for batman and 45mins for mononoke prints.

Yeah I can imagine people who don't even know what Mondo prints are see a line and get in it and buy it without thinking twice. Glad to hear its not so chaotic that people can get their prints, but I suspect that could be the case today and maybe tomorrow but Saturday and Sunday should be nuts. You should hang around in that area when you can, some biggies are coming probably.

Ya the guy in front of me never heard of mondo but.. Someone in line ws blabbing away how you can resell them for twice or triple the price he stayed in line..so he could sell on eBay. Plus he had a buddy with him which he gave money too so he got two prints out of it. I'm torn between actually experiencing con or just camping out all day in that area.. Wish I had someone stand in line for me.. Argh..some pretty cool stuff is going down tommrow so..I'll have to make a choice... Lol

Well at the end of the day you can at least look back if you aren't able to get any prints and say you got some today. Yeah spending the entire time at the Mondo booth kind of defeats the purpose of wanting to experience SDCC, but I can imagine there are people doing just that, either serious collectors who want everything that is offered and are willing to wait each day, all day (more power to them too I say) but then there are probably those that have gone down to get everything to sell, and in this economy I can't really blame them either. If someone is willing to wait all day long in a place like, technically they should be able to do what they want with them without fear of being verbally attacked by others, etc.

Ya I met a few of those people today. Serious collectors. You could imagine how many people from expresso beans I met. Telling me what they had and how much they had...just amazing the lengths they go through to get these prints. They all seem to be a tight knit group where everyone knows everyone. Really a good feeling when you see everyone having a good time in line.

I can concur with that, when a friend of mine and my nephew went down to Portland for the Zelda gallery show for the gold Zelda Moss variant, we decided to see what it would be like, drove the 3 hours south and got there at midnight. The line was already 42 people long when we arrived, and the prints weren't even going on sale until 12pm so we waited 12 hours, I was somehow given the names/line number list and took it over so when people showed up they checked in with me, because we were told of the 100 prints made, only 60 were being sold at 12pm, a few others were going to be held for gallery employees, and a few for online sales (I think the gallery got 68 or 70 of the gold variants of the 100 made) and Moss would be selling the rest via his site at a later date we were told.

Lots of really cool people in line, despite the fact that we had 12 hours until the print went on sale, we all watched out for each other, we didn't make people stay in line, basically the list had people's names and where they ranked in line on it. I spoke with several people from EB and everyone was quite cool, no rudeness or cocky people whatsoever. Sure there were a few things that made people raise their eyebrow and say "WTF?" such as a husband and wife who were there with their two small kids making them sleep and hang out throughout the night, but the kids were well-behaved and while people knew the kids were there to flip them, so were about half to three quarters of everyone else, so there was no reason why they could not wait either.

People flew in from all over the country, and drove in from as far as southern California. One guy was trying to have a blank space on the list for his buddy who was flying in but the majority overruled that and said "He has to be here on the list and in-person". By 5:30am I had taken the last name (#60) yet people continued to line-up. We explained to them they probably would not get one, since we had 60 confirmed people but they waited anyways. By 12pm there were about 90 people in line, 30 of which didn't get one, some waiting 5 hours to be told "No you wont get one by the gallery" despite us telling them previously. Overall it was enjoyable talking with the people, and hearing their stories about how many of them travel around and do it whenever they can.

[QUOTE=Kinsella5;6183638]Thought I would post some images of what "The Dark Knight Rises" bus shelter posters look like in-person over the stock images that were released. These things are unbelievably gorgeous in-person. They are matte-finished, thick coated paper (much thicker than standard movie posters) and are deep black, but the detail is incredible. They are double-sided, 4 feet wide x 6 feet tall. These are the official authentic ones, and the studio did a great job on them.

To give them some scale, I placed them each on my queen-sized bed in my guest room, and I had to stand on a step stool to try and get the entire poster to fit in the photograph. There is a window to the right and light was coming in, but I had to use the camera flash on the Bane one and then I was losing light and it made the Catwoman look lighter than it is. All three though in person are a deep black and the white highlights really stand out.

There are people who have them on eBay and what was interesting is I have friends who live all over the place and they have seen the bus shelter posters up one night when they are driving home from work, and then said the next morning they are gone. It would not surprise me if people were somehow gaining access to the bus stop frames or know someone who can, or worse yet, breaking into them to get the posters and then up on eBay they go. I have noticed the majority of the ones on eBay are damaged or have holes in them, etc. It also would not surprise me if reprints start appearing due to the rarity of getting the original ones so buyers be careful.

Here are images of the front and back sides of all three character styles:

The only issue I have with them are the eyes on Batman and Catwoman. No reason to completely black them out.

It would of been nice if they made normal size version of each poster. I love when companies make character posters for their movies.

Actually on the Batman one, the eyes aren't completely blackened out, on the right eye there is a faint white area of his eyeball visible but I can see what you mean.

Regarding actual one-sheets, that is still up in the air. I know for the domestic release, they don't exist (but that won't stop people from "printing" them up themselves and selling them claiming to be real, and sadly people will fall for it) but there are no authentic character styles like these for the domestic release.

When these images were first revealed online, the studio also revealed the SAME images but at the bottom said "Coming Soon" which to me indicated that they could also be featured on an international poster, or something else. Nothing came of it, until a few weeks ago someone I know who is quite knowledgeable in the poster arena told me he was getting a double-sided set that said "Coming Soon" at the bottom but they were coming from Singapore and he said he would get back to me on them if he felt they were original. A lot of reprints can come out of Singapore and Thailand, but also they come from our own backyards here in the USA too. I will check with him, because if they do exist, they would be international advance styles and should be quite easy to tell especially if the backside of the posters are lighter in appearance.

As I mentioned before, the Nolan-Batman films have brought the lowest of lows to certain people are printing stuff up left and right and selling off which is huge gamble. It's one thing to sell originals or licensed reprints, but to run copies of stuff off, that is really risky let alone dishonest and unethical. A friend of mine said he saw some of the poster dealers who sell reprints at shows and they had really poor quality DKR posters up, as he looked closely at them you could tell just how poor quality they were, but people were buying them thinking they were the real deal.

Could you tell me which version of the Advance Style B for 'The Amazing Spider-Man' is glossy and has the words "In 3D and IMAX 3D" at the bottom.

And also are the wounds on Spider-Man's chest supposed look a little blurry in person?

Moving on. What would be a fair price for the DKR mondo and Iron Man 3 poster released at Comic-Con? Got a few lined up on eBay but I don't want the same thing that happened to me with the IMAX Spider-Man to happen again.

That is a pretty sweet poster, I'm a big fan of Emma Stone. Ebay has some of these and have them listed as bus shelters. Where in the world would I put a 4'x6' poster in my basement though! There is a smaller version, 12x34 that looks really nice too, but that one is coming from Thailand, so I'd seriously doubt it's authenticity.

Ya, saw the tweet... I actually REALLY like it. I'm a bit of a pinhead and CFTBL is a really great pinball machine. They are releasing it on Pinball Arcade this month. I know some pinball fans who would probably like to hang one of these prints by their machine.

I am still waiting to hear back from one of my contacts as to which Amazing Spider-Man style he had, it could be a rare international version, once I know I will post, but have not heard back yet. It could be they used this image from the bus shelter, but if this was a bus shelter it probably would not say "Coming Soon" on it. Roar, since you confirmed the artwork, do you remember if the wording was different from the ones you saw compared to stock image?

The Amazing Spider-Man style I currently have originally was thought to be the final style since there were only two styles out and neither of them had the credits on them and that second style was the most current one up until a few weeks before the film opened. While I have not personally seen a final style, I have heard there is one that is the SAME artwork as the advance style "B" but with the credits added at the bottom (this isn't that uncommon, as studios have been known to make an advance and final with the same artwork but the final adds the credits). Most recently this was done for Sucker Punch, The Hangover 2, and I remember The X-Files: I Want to Believe and some other titles were like that as well.

The Amazing Spider-Man advance style "B" that I have are very glossy, and at the bottom state "07-03-12" and beneath that "In 3-D". Regarding the chest being blurry I checked mine and where the skin is exposed it does look a tad bit blurry but I just that is how it is supposed to look.

Also, something I noticed is I believe the image on the IMPAwards site found here: http://www.impawards.com/2012/amazin...rman_ver2.html is not a poster, and perhaps was an early image. I know in some cases a poster image that is released online may change slightly before it is released. This "could" be the case, but the one-sheets I have in stock look like like the one below and it is also the same as the ones in the theaters that I have noticed. Genesis, if you bought one from someone, does your look like mine below, or does it look like the one from the link above?

There are two on ebay right now listed as bus shelters. Both have the date on them and not 'Coming Soon'.

Ok good to know, so that image of Spider-Man and Emma is a domestic bus shelter poster style. For the domestic release then there were two advance styles, and one final style with the final style featuring the same artwork as the 2nd advance but with credits added. It can get confusing when stock images are announced as posters (which collectors then equate as one-sheets) when they turn out to be bus shelter posters, banners, or in some cases, not even posters at all (re: the early images for Sherlock Homes 2). What is really frustrating are when sites report "fan-made" posters as real, which happens all the time.
