personally I think the film looks better in motion than the stills represent, I feel that way about any screengrab though

Funny thing is I bought a panasonic player a few months back to replace the sammy and decided that I didnt need it because my sammy plays everything fine - but I couldnt play toy story(my duaghters favorite movie) and now Avatar (Im sure will be my new favorite to show PQ) - looks like I should have kept the panny. Opps...

Just got off the phone with Samsung heres what the rep said:

Sam: What product are you calling about?
Me: BD UP 5000 - avatar won't play
Sam: We are aware of the problem - we did not get our hands on the disc until today so we did not know if it would play on all players, I have like 40 people on hold with the same issue. We will work on an upgrade and just keep calling. The company that make Avatar knew this would be an issue and that is why they included a DVD in the blu ray (what a load of crap). I will make a note of your call. I can pretty much guess what people are calling about today - we have received so many calls.
Me: Thank you - I look forward to your quick resolution of the problem.

I saw a few mention that it played fine on the BD60... so I would assume the BD30 will as well, but unfortunately I have not heard any official confirmation from anyone on the BD30.

Bad, Fox should work with these companies to avoid this in future. Thats why I will only use Sony BD players, never failed me yet

if Panasonic feels their players need a firmware update they will release it very fast.Don't worry always check this under support panasonic.net

I hope so as my panny has been losing dvd reading capability lately and i would hate to attempt an update only to have it not read it properly.

they know about it before its released,it seems no time to take care of it,they are thinking of how to get 3D technology at customers hand before others
