I noticed that during the first viewing. I was like WTF is she grinning at. I think in post they made her grin like that. Then I saw her at the desk and I am like editing error? I doubt she would return for the sequel as she probably be old AF.

If your friend can appreciate that, I say let her see it, but if it's all too much regardless, I'd say she should stay away. There's a reason those scenes have been commented on so much, they WERE done "well" (realistically), so keep that in mind.

If she knows she is typically affected by it, she will know to avoid it.

Thanks guys. I am going to keep my mouth shut on this one. A few months back she told me that the movie "The Shack" was *too close* to her own life story and I had no clue what she was talking about since I missed the movie.
I don't think she's gonna have a break down. I was just looking out for a friend that is all.

I think it would be cool if Jerry O Connell plays Ben in the next one.

I didn't care for It. Tim Curry's Pennywise was creepier in my opinion.

Was I the only one bothered that, despite cleaning a bathroom full of blood, that Bill's white shirt remained pristinely white afterwards? as did the other characters wearing white, or other light colors? I would have expected at least a little bit of blood to have gotten on these unprofessional blood cleaning kids. Is it just one of those things where the blood wouldn't show up on their actual clothing, or just a silly oversight from the filmmakers?

I think a silly oversight by the filmmakers.
Those kinda "mistakes" happen quite requarly in movies don't they?

Thought I was the only one who noticed this. Who knows where else the blood made it to. Their shoes? Their knees when they had to clean really low?

On one hand, this is a complete nitpick, but on the other, there are some people out there (like myself) conscientious enough as to not get blood all over themselves.

I finally got some downtime to check IT out. I was entertained and I thought the younger actors were outstanding. each one just had a great presence on screen. really enjoyed the opening Pennywise sequence. after that though I was not entertained much when he was on screen.

many will say the mini-series is better. I will say I enjoyed the work of Curry much more than what was portrayed with Pennywise. it is not a nostalgia kick for me, I can admit the children were vastly better in the film, and visually it looked better (but that was to be expected). I hope they are able to carry over the great performances with the next cast.

I feel like people aren't allowed to say the miniseries is better yet, not until Chapter Two comes out and Muschietti has released his "Whole Bloody Affair" cut, when the whole story is there. Right now, they're basically only able to compare this movie and Part 1/Night 1 of the miniseries, and when it comes to that, the film was better.

The one thing that disappointed me was the lack of dialogue scene with Pennywise. I really loved Skarsgaard's performance in the first scene. Maybe there will be more in the extended cut and Chapter 2.

I gave it a 4. 5 stars for me is very prestigious. The move good and will definitely purchase and watch again to dissect scenes. Thought they did a very good job with the clown and gave it a different feel then the original. Well done.

I personally do love what Skarsgard did with Pennywise. I felt he was much more threatening and not just because his attacks had R rated blood to back them up. He wasn't the comical clown Tim Curry played. He was far more threatening and yet he still could make you laugh in that way that you feel sort of wrong for it. Like Heath Ledger did with the Joker. Skarsgard stated that he was aiming for a childish quality with his Pennywise and with the voice and some of his mannerisms he definitely got that, but somehow he also brought a sense of desperation to Pennywise as well.
[Show spoiler]In the end when all of the kids are ganging up on him he actually tries to bargain with them because he is actually scared of them. It was a nice touch that doesn't diminish his threat and really sets the stage for a major comeback in Chapter Two.

P.S. It is now closing in on $220 million, with a wonderful $60 million second weekend, and definitely looks poised to cross $300 million and become the first R rated horror film ever to do so. It has truly become a cultural event. My hearty congratulations to the filmmakers and to WB/New Line for putting their faith in the project. Now where is the Chapter Two deal?

I'm willing to bet there is some heavy debate going on back at WB hq. do they go the same route, small and unknown for 35-50 million? Or do they ride the cultural impact train and really up the budget and talent for a potential 600-750 world wide take with some major Star power for part 2?
