In the dictionary, under "lolno"... Seriously, LOL & NO. I liked the miniseries, too, but the movie just blows it out of the water. I really wish Oscar had a "Best Ensemble" category, those kids would walk away with it, easy. Might have a chance in some of the tech awards, could maybe see WB pushing Sophia Lillis for a Supporting nom; she was fantastic.

Man I really need to watch this movie again. I missed the little hidden moments that I've read here. Also watched a video on YouTube talking about a bunch of pop culture references sprinkled throughout the film.

Did anyone think Georgie's green Lego turtle
[Show spoiler](with reference to the "cosmic turtle") was actually Gamera?? That's what it looked like to me

So I have a friend who recently told me a very dark secret.
[Show spoiler] She was molested as a child by her father.
In seeing the movie for the 3rd time and those scenes, I just remembered what she told me the other day. Now she said she has no plans on seeing it BUT if her BF convinces her enough, she will go. You guys think I should tell her to go take a 20 minute bathroom break (40 mins after the movie starts and when the kids meet her at the Pharmacy) since that's when the Pharmacist acts really creepy (the lois lane comment) and then later the dad comments and touching. That's what I recall being the part where it might be hard for her to watch...or should I just keep my mouth shut?

How do you think your friend would react to Bev getting her retribution towards the end? 'Cause that's the thing about those scenes, they're terrible and uncomfortable, yes, but at the end, Beverly gets her "revenge," if you will, and we learn that she's getting away from it and going to a better place. If your friend can appreciate that, I say let her see it, but if it's all too much regardless, I'd say she should stay away. There's a reason those scenes have been commented on so much, they WERE done "well" (realistically), so keep that in mind.

I would just warn her that those themes and types of scenes are in the film and let her decide for herself. It's impossible to predict how each person will react to things like that, and telling her to skip it may be presumptuous in that it's deciding for her what she can or cannot handle. If she knows she is typically affected by it, she will know to avoid it.

What happened with the librarian?

[Show spoiler]Most certainly, as in the same sequence you can see the same librarian sitting at her desk reading, instead of behind Ben. The fake librarian asks Ben if he has lots of friends, the same way he asks Georgie. It's a cool as hell addition!

Yeah, I noticed the lady at the right as well, but wasn't 100% sure she was the same person.

Shit, see, I missed that. As has already been said -- the film may be peppered with all sorts of implicit things going about in the background and to the sides. Now I'm contemplating seeing it again in theaters.

I'm pretty sure, but I could be wrong on that. I think the
[Show spoiler]librarian is 100% Pennywise though.
