wow, 9k+. There goes ebay tout prices of $500+

I'm glad i got one in. My greedy ass friend saw the poster prices on ebay and thought he'd give me a double barrel offer. If he decides to keep it when it releases, will i be mad?

Or would i be ok to take it should he not want it? (probably if ebay pricing wasn't up to scratch) double

I'll still take it off his dumbass though most likely. He doesn't understand it's value

Nice. How much did you pay for the frames?

I think you are just trying to intimidate your FRAME-OFF challengers.

I really like what that frame and matting do for the JP print. The bottom half is so dark, and there is a lot of cool stuff to show off in that part of the print.

Well...I wound up passing on the Mondo DKR poster. I'm using the money that I would have spent on that to instead purchase the following Nightmare Before Christmas canvas print to get signed by Chris Sarandon (voice of Jack Skellington) at an upcoming convention

How do I know when new, limited releases of these ''Mondo'' posters are released?

And where can I buy nice frames? I have only 1 big poster framed, this one:

One of my all-time favorite movies .
Clint Eastwood as Lieutenant Schaffer

Follow their twitter feed. Everything gets announced there. Only a fraction of their announcements make it onto their blog at mondotees.com so you really need to follow them on twitter to get the scoop. They always give lead time on up coming prints so you would rarely have something sprung on you. They also do a good job of sending update through their mailing list, so sign up for that too.

That's right... I'm trying to plant that seed of doubt I am curious to see some frame jobs on the Dark Knight print, the colour pallet on it is very limiting. I may look to others for inspiration, I'm not sure I want to be the first one out of the gate on this one.

The Iron Man and Professional were in the $285 range and then JP was $185 I believe. Those are ballparks my memory is foggy The first two were done by Michael's with 70% of in 'coupons' which goes to show you what a joke Michael's coupons are. I swear I could go in today with no coupons and get the same price.

Speaking of nice framing jobs, I love this custom job that someone posted a picture of on http://www.thinkgeek.com.

The artwork is The First Cylon War (as seen in Adama's quarters in Battlestar Galactica).

I think this custom job is really neat, since it captures the octagonal format of items seen in the show. I have this artwork, and when I finally get around to framing it I will try to do something similar.

Didn't get an answer so re-asking. Anybody know what's the cheapest poster frames in the UK to buy at? I think Amazon.co.uk is showing as the cheapest so far from my limited search but hoping for a magic <£10 mark

I don't know, but 10 GBP is pretty low.
Are you sure the quality will be good? I paid 35 GBP for my frame and it is definitely not the best quality. I'll try to get a better one for this DKR poster .

I know £10 is a low amount but i'm just kind of looking for a temporary solution that i can use to just display my posters and keep them safe, rather than an expensive solution atm. I'm gonna spend a little bit more on quality posters when i actually own my own home and a proper HT room

But alas, that's years away

I'm happy with my extra, little room atm .
I Have some nice posters and canvas-art-poster-things , my PS3 and a region 1 DVD-player, some shelfs to display my steelbooks, a showcase for my tins, LE boxsets etc. my Full-HD TV, a couch, a table and a minibar .

But we are students, we can't afford a house and an expensive home cinema (yet) . I'm comfortable living with my parents, saves a lot of money .

Most Mondo prints are less than 400 made, so as Roar pointed out the timed release that they did (which was their first) was quite profitable for them. $40 a print x 9350 is $374,000 and that doesn't include shipping which was $14 per print.

This kind of money is staggering, and since Mondo has said they wont want to do more timed releases and keep their prints limited so don't get used to seeing print numbers that high.

I believe up until this print, the highest number of a print made was the Stout Star Wars Trilogy standard editions which saw 850 of each made. The black and gold variants were limited to 275 though.

Roar, nice framed pictures do, sounds like you guys are going to get fierce in your frame-off, hopefully you all start training now just like Rocky did against Mr. T.

Seems like this would be the right place for the right people...

For those of you from Western PA, or the surrounding areas, I'm hosting an event this fall at the Hollywood Theater in Dormont, PA.

It is an art-gallery fused with a secret film screening (yes, very similar to Mondo Mystery Theatre). Everyone in attendance will receive a limited edition signed/numbered poster from artist Brian Holderman as well as a raffle ticket. We'll be raffling off a bunch of the artists work as well as a whole bunch of goodies (over $1000 worth of stuff).

There will be food, a DJ, and of course, the surprise film. More information can be found at our website, Steel City Secret Cinema.

I've always been envious of those who get to participate in the Mondo Mystery Theatre series, and wanted to bring something similar to Western Pa. Tickets are only $22, and they go on sale Friday, July 20th at 7:00 PM.

Not trying to spam, just spreading the word!

EDIT: The Olly Moss Batman The Dark Knight Rises poster will also be one of the raffle prizes, since it's representing the hometown crowd! (a large portion of the movie was filmed here)

It seems that you can still place an order for the Mondo TDKR print right now. I'm guessing maybe because of double orders, cc cancellations, etc. At least the number of prints is established so they'll probably sell them until they reach 9350.

It is just a glitch on their website, if you add it to your cart, you will get a notification that it's no longer available.

I don't have a problem with your posting, nor would anyone here probably. Not sure how much business though you will get from this thread, I don't think anyone on here is from PA are they? Hopefully it goes well for you, always cool to see someone making things like this happen for their city.

Hahaha that was weird...when I first tried it about 15 minutes ago I was able to add it to my cart. But you're right, when I tried just now it said no longer available...

There's actually quite a few Western PA folks on here... maybe not in this thread specifically, but I'm not trying to spam across the boards and thought this would be the best audience! That being said, I believe this event represents a blend of people, like myself, who appreciate good art and cult classic cinema.

I'm hoping to get on the pitch of running this event twice a year and contribute what I can to the screen-printed poster scene (granted, I'm not creating the poster myself, I'm leaving that to much more talented people). My inability to land any of the Mondo drops over the last year made me decide to start doing this myself, all as a non-profit.
