I kinda wanted to wait and see what exactly the bonus book is. If I wait till March am I really risking not being able to get one?

I've never preordered anything. It usually seems there's enough of whatever it is. Is "limited" just another way of saying special edition?
Arrow Video do real limited editions that sometimes sell out before they're even released, though most last longer. It really depends. This being 80's horror I really wouldn't putz around, I'd pre-order it. Amazon doesn't charge you until it ships anyway, so there is zero risk. 80's horror tends to sell fast.

Speaking of The Lawnmower Man, I would only want it on blu-ray if it has the Director's Cut.

No director's cut, no buy for me.

Thanks for the reply.

I actually have a couple amazon gift cards. Anyone know if you can submit preorders with gift card?

Here's a description of the book from Arrow if that helps with your decision.

The House Companion – limited edition 60-page book featuring new writing on the entire House franchise by researcher Simon Barber, alongside a wealth of archive material.

You just add the gift card to your account and it will automatically deduct on the next order, or orders, until the balance is gone.

You can also place an order and then go into it's status and apply gift cards to it after the fact. I frequently do so with my Vestron orders. Pre-order early, and then as I earn gift cards online through some Advisory panels I participate in, I simply go in, re-calculate my order and apply the cards to keep dropping the price.

For those of you that have gone region free the Arrow House 4-film collection seems to be a better deal at $56.24 pre-order @ Zavvi

http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/the-ful.../11385841.html

Why only get half the House films for almost the same money?

Not everyone likes the 3rd and 4th entry.... *shrugs* for some, only the first two matter. Personally, I'm for the first two.....the last two aren't worth my time. It's not to say they don't have their fans. I'm just not one of them.

Have we received confirmation that parts 1 & 2 will be the same as the US set (i.e. Region A Friendly)? I've considered ordering the 4 film set but don't want to have to worry about compatibility issues across my players with the first 2 films since they are the primary reason I'm wanting these releases. If parts 1 & 2 are region A friendly I'll go the Zavvi route... if they're region B locked I'll stick to the US release.

I'm on the verge of getting a region free player any day now, so if House and House II happened to be region locked on the UK set, it wouldn't matter to me anyway since i'll have a region free player before it comes out.

Arrow website indicates Region B Blu-rays and region 2 DVD's so until someone gets their hands on the product we won't be able to verify if this info is factual, very possible 2 could be region free.

There aren't any legal reasons preventing Arrow from making at least the first 2 films region-free so if they region lock the entire set that will be very odd and frustrating. I'm region-free but prefer not to deal with codes since my player is very finicky. There's a guy over on the Arrow UK thread who answers questions - next time he pops up I'll ask him.

I just got one (had to have the Incredible Hulk TV series) and so far it's been great. Pretty excited that everything is now available to me, but i am gonna hold off on House for now. A bit too expensive for my tastes. Good luck with the player !

Ended up pre-ordering the House 1-4 set from Zavvi as well. And Amazon UK STILL doesn't have it listed.

At some point recently, someone posted links to youtube reviews of House 3 and House 4. I can't find the post again, but I don't even know what thread it was in. They were ~30 minutes long and basically included everything that happens in the movies. They were pretty good stuff, even though the hosts sounded really forced every time they swore.

Anyway, they made it sound like both House 3 and House 4 are a LOT worse than 1/2, but that both of them also contain enough crazy stuff to be well worth watching. It sounded like one was really actually bad, and the other was not good, but had actual good material. I dunno. I watched the one they did on House 2 as well, and they both seemed to think it was even better than 1, so I'm now going to have to get one of these sets.

I guess I'll see if the UK version goes on sale for cheaper than the US set, which isn't out of the question considering how much cheaper equivalent sets tend to be normally. I don't think I care about a booklet in the case of these movies.

I'm having this debate. I watched the first one quite a lot as a kid, and also watched the second movie a good bit as well. Haven't seen either of them in probably 15-20 years. Never have seen the third or fourth. On one hand, I want to pick up the UK set just to see 3 and 4, but they sound pretty bad, like I probably don't need to own them. But I do want to check them out, at least once. On the other hand, just owning 1 and 2 would be "complete" set for me, since that's what I grew up with knowing. What to do.

I actually grew up with 1, 2 & 4, with 3/The Horror Show being rather elusive until I was a teenager, so I sure as hell do consider all four to be a complete collection.

No. Zavvi will only and I mean ONLY charge when it ships (except if you use Paypal, of course).

As for shipping early, they normally ship several days before the release date and for me, the orders take about exactly a week to be delivered.
